These include the Beacon Award of Excellence at both Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran Hospital and the Best Hospital/Healthcare System and Best Company to Work For by readers of the Des Moines Business Record.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>The provider provides routine care and management of the hospitalized patient in critical care and general cardiology, in collaboration with other members of the health care team</li>\n <li>Evaluates and treats patients, which includes history taking, pertinent physical exam, ordering and evaluating lab/diagnostic studies, and ordering of medications & treatments</li>\n <li>Documents findings in accurate, systematic form and maintains appropriate documentation in the medical record</li>\n <li>Utilizes data to identify areas of improvement, monitor progress, and design/implement initiatives which can make a positive impact on the care of the critical care and cardiology patient</li>\n <li>Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, families, staff, and members of the community from diverse backgrounds</li>\n <li>Recognizes situations which require the immediate attention of a physician, and initiates life-saving procedures when necessary</li>\n <li>Accepts responsibility to maintain and developing own skill and knowledge in the clinical area of expertise - (critical care and cardiology)</li>\n <li>Provides specialty specific patient-family teaching and counseling based on needs, and in collaboration with the care team</li>\n <li>Ability to work 5-6 shifts in a pay period (combination of day and night shifts)</li>\n <li>Perform procedures in the critical care patient (i.e. intubation, ventilator management, arterial line placement, central line placement) following education, precepting, and proctoring</li>\n <li>Participation in our Rapid Response Team (RRT)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Physician Assistant, or, Master’s or Doctorate Degree as an ARNP in the area of Adult-Gero Acute Care</li>\n <li>If NP, One or more years’ experience as a nurse in critical care </li>\n <li>Current Iowa License to practice as RN and ARNP</li>\n <li>BCLS & ACLS</li>\n <li>Valid driver's license </li>\n <li>Ability to communicate effectively </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>We offer</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Attractive incentive package </li>\n <li>Shift and weekend differential pay </li>\n <li>A competitive Total Rewards program offers benefits that align with your needs and priorities, no matter what stage of life you are in. </li>\n <li>Generous time off and CME allowance, malpractice insurance, retirement contributions and more </li>\n <li>Dedicated provider resources to positively impact providers work-life balance</li>\n <li>Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, including a free third-party service for loan restructuring and consolidation. </li>\n <li>A commitment to ensuring you have a voice that is heard regardless of role, race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation. </li>\n <li>Support and development opportunities that are a crucial part of delivering a remarkable employment experience. </li>\n <li>A culture guided by uncompromising values and unwavering belief in doing what’s right for the people we serve.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Community Details</strong></p>\n<p>Greater Des Moines (DSM) is a community that invests in itself, that is powered by multi-national corporations and also supports small, locally owned businesses.
