Our mission has always been to provide our customers with the highest quality waste, recycling, and environmental services, while keeping focus on employee, customer, and environmental safety. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>What makes our company culture unique is we have mastered the ability to balance the standards of a large corporate company while maintaining our small business family style culture. </p>\n<h2>Essential Job Summary:</h2>\n<p>The Line Sorter's main responsibility is to sort and pick through refuse at our MRF / Optical Sorting Facility (Materials Recovery Facility). They play an integral role in the elimination of wrongly recycled products into the environment’s waste and recycling stream.  They will learn the appropriate products to identify throughout the optical sorting machinery.</p>\n<h2>Essential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to stand for four hours at a time (based on shift and break rotations)</li>\n <li>Must be able to work in hot and cold weather (work area is not heated or cooled—it reflects the outdoor temperature at the time)</li>\n <li>Sort through recyclables on a moving conveyor belt</li>\n <li>Sweeping is required at cleanup time</li>\n <li>Light shoveling</li>\n <li>Occasional lifting (less than 50lbs)</li>\n <li>Familiarity with the use of hand tools like pliers for the cleaning of baled product</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Requirements and Qualifications:</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Applicants must meet physical standards as specified above</li>\n <li>Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States</li>\n <li>Experience from the sanitation industry is <em>strongly preferred</em></li>\n <li>Position requires a team-player attitude as job is spent in close quarters with other staff members that all rely on one another</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>*Sorters will spend their shift standing on their feet alongside the conveyer belts</p>\n<p>They will be exposed to odors, hot or cold weather, as well as physically touching items in the recycling stream</p>\n<h2>Additional Information</h2>\n<p>This job description is intended to be an accurate representation of the general functions of the job, rather than exhaustive list of duties, responsibilities, or experience.
