The engineer will work directly with customers, field personnel, and internal engineering teams to capture and interpret point cloud scan data, develop precise 3D CAD models, and improve wear-part performance through innovative engineering solutions.</p><p><br></p><p>The position combines field work, technical design, customer engagement, and data-driven analysis to help mining operations reduce downtime, optimize maintenance practices, and improve equipment reliability.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Collaborate with customers, account managers, and product managers to understand operational challenges and develop customized engineering solutions.&nbsp;</li><li>Support mining optimization projects through field data collection, analysis, and technical evaluation.&nbsp;</li><li>Perform reverse engineering activities using point cloud scanning technologies and CAD modeling tools.&nbsp;</li><li>Develop detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for undercarriage components and wear parts.&nbsp;</li><li>Analyze wear patterns and equipment performance to identify opportunities for design and material improvements.&nbsp;</li><li>Partner with regional and technical teams to support product development initiatives and innovation efforts.&nbsp;</li><li>Provide technical expertise and training to internal teams to support undercarriage optimization across equipment lines.&nbsp;</li><li>Participate in site visits to oversee scanning operations, gather field insights, and collaborate with maintenance personnel.&nbsp;</li><li>Support engineering documentation, reporting, and change management processes.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.&nbsp;</li><li>Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering and design of electric and hydraulic mining shovel undercarriage systems.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong proficiency with CAD and PDM systems.&nbsp;</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.&nbsp;</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.&nbsp;</li><li>High attention to detail with the ability to work independently.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to write technical reports, training documentation, and customer-facing materials.&nbsp;</li><li>Basic understanding of metallurgy and mechanical systems.&nbsp;</li><li>Willingness to travel to customer mine sites as required.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>5+ years of experience in product development and data-driven engineering analysis.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong experience with undercarriage wear-part analysis and design.&nbsp;</li><li>In-depth knowledge of mining operations and electric/hydraulic shovel systems.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience with point cloud reverse engineering technologies such as Creaform, Faro, or Hexagon.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience with Autodesk Inventor and Vault Professional.&nbsp;</li><li>Familiarity with Engineering Change Management procedures.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience translating customer requirements into technical specifications.&nbsp;</li><li>Spanish language skills are a plus.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong presentation and customer engagement skills.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><br></p>",
