    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<h3>Willow Valley is hiring a<strong> PRN Occupational Therapist </strong>to plan, organize and administer medically prescribed Occupational Therapy programming in all levels of living for patients with chronic or acute injuries, muscle, nerve, joint or bone diseases, to increase function, improve cognition, relieve pain, prevent disability and improve quality of living on an as needed basis. </h3>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Opportunities with WVC: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Tuition Reimbursement</li>\n <li>TM Events and Recognition</li>\n <li>Continued career growth and education opportunities, such as extensive dementia training by our very own Memory Care Educator</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Wage: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>$52/hour</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li> Models exemplary customer service and models care, compassion and trust toward Team Members and Residents.</li>\n <li>Administers active and passive manual therapeutic treatments, including heat, light, sound, water, and electrical or physical agent modality treatments such as but not limited to ultrasound, electrical stimulation, ultraviolet, infrared, diathermy, and hot and cold packs to improve and maintain function.</li>\n <li>Reviews Physician's referral (prescription), patient's condition and medical records to determine occupational therapy treatment required.</li>\n <li>Tests and measures patient's activity of daily living skills, strength, joint range of motion, motor development, muscle tone, sensory and perceptual awareness, functional capacity, respiratory and circulatory efficiency, cognitive function and records findings to develop or revise treatment programs.</li>\n <li>Plans and prepares written plans of care based on evaluation of patient data.</li>\n <li>Provides and coordinates practice in functional, prevocational, vocational, homemaking skills, and activities of daily living to maximize independence, prepare individual for return to home/employment, assists in restoration of function, and aid in adjustment to disability.</li>\n <li>Instructs, motivates, and assists patient to perform various postural and mobility related physical activities and in use of assistive and supportive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and prostheses. </li>\n <li>Teaches, motivates, and assists patient to perform individual skills and techniques required for participation in activities.  </li>\n <li>Consults with other members of interdisciplinary team to select activity program consistent with needs and capabilities of individual and to coordinate occupational therapy with other therapeutic activities. </li>\n <li>Designs and constructs special equipment for individual and suggests adaptation of individual's living environment</li>\n <li>Evaluates effects of treatments at various stages and adjusts treatment to achieve maximum benefit.</li>\n <li>Records treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart.</li>\n <li>Instructs patient and family/caregiver in treatment procedures to be continued at home, if indicated.</li>\n <li>Requisitions supplies and equipment.</li>\n <li>Confers with Physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program, and integrate occupational therapy treatment with other aspects of patient's health care.</li>\n <li>Ability to work with other therapists, nursing staff, patients, and caregivers in coordinating patient care to optimize outcomes.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates good organizational, time management, and planning skills.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates good working knowledge of Prospective Payment Systems (PPS) and Minimum Data Set (MDS), Medicare Part B, and other applicable reimbursement systems.</li>\n <li>Adheres to all applicable federal, state and local standards of care and ethics and policies concerned with the practice of  occupational therapy.</li>\n <li>Completes timely clinical documentation to include functional goal-setting, program and therapeutic approach.
