    "requisitionDescription": "<p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>Lecturer in Spanish for Healthcare Professionals</strong></span></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>DESCRIPTION</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left: 20px;\" data-pasted=\"true\">Gwynedd Mercy University is seeking an innovative part-time instructor with a background in both language instruction and medical/healthcare terminology. This individual will play a key role in creating and revitalizing Spanish courses. We are looking for a dynamic educator with experience in online, hybrid, and in-person instruction, proficiency with Universal Design for Learning, and an understanding of cultural medical practices within Hispanic/Latino communities.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Teach immersive undergraduate courses using the target language in:&nbsp;<ul type=\"circle\"><li>Beginning, intermediate, and advanced Spanish</li><li>Develop specialized courses in Spanish for Healthcare, Spanish for Law Enforcement and additional topics depending on the needs of the institution</li></ul></li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Deliver high-quality instruction in face-to-face, online, and hybrid modalities</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Engage in leading opportunities for study abroad</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Provide students with clear syllabi, expectations, learning outcomes, and course schedules</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Use pedagogies consistent with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to support a diverse student body</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Develop engaging, culturally informed instructional materials</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assess student learning and provide timely feedback</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Collaborate with program leadership in revitalizing and expanding the Spanish curriculum</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Minimum requirements:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Master&rsquo;s degree from an accredited university <strong>and</strong>:&nbsp;<ul type=\"circle\"><li>Advanced proficiency and fluency in written and conversational Spanish (Castellano and/or Espanol).</li><li>Experience teaching Spanish <strong>or</strong> experience in a bilingual professional environment.</li></ul></li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Candidates possessing fluency in the Spanish language and an earned Bachelor&rsquo;s degree who are currently enrolled in a Master&rsquo;s degree program will be considered for this position.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Preferred qualifications:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Master&rsquo;s degree or higher in Spanish, Applied Linguistics, or related field</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Experience designing or teaching Spanish for specialized professions</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Familiarity with Canvas or similar LMS</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Experience teaching online, hybrid, and in‑person courses</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Demonstrated proficiency with UDL principles and culturally responsive teaching approaches</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Knowledge of instructional technologies and digital learning tools</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>EOE STATEMENT:</strong></p><p>Gwynedd Mercy University is committed to maintaining a positive learning, working, and living environment that is free from unlawful discrimination and harassment.
