Description

Our Audio-Visual team focuses on designing, installing, and maintaining complex AV solutions for our clients. As a Senior Technician with Bosch Building Technologies, you will be responsible for reviewing, understanding, analyzing, and implementing installation plans from our Design, Sales, and Project Management Team. This role requires the ability and know how to properly complete the installation, understand and follow the bill of materials (BOM), and be capable of making adjustments or finding alternative solutions as needed to complete installations to client satisfaction. Ideal candidates will represent Bosch Building Technologies in a professional manner that aligns with our values of leadership mindset, people development, team, and client-focused. A typical day could see you working on a variety of commercial installations including, hospitals, airports, corporate offices, and casinos to name just a few. RESPONSIBILITIES  Installation and servicing of cabling infrastructure, audio/visual systems, and presentation technologies, including pre-wiring, equipment installation, termination, testing, labeling, troubleshooting, reporting, and commissioning in accordance with specifications and drawings. Program and commission control through the use of Crestron Toolbox, Extron Toolbelt, and Tesira software. Configure device IDs, IP addresses, and system settings, while maintaining accurate programming records and project documentation. Build equipment racks and maintain a high standard of cable management and workmanship. Read and interpret system schematics, construction drawings, and project documentation. Organize and maintain efficiency with onsite activities and project goals while providing leadership and technical guidance to the project team. Load program files, update firmware, and perform system verification and testing. Ensure all safety policies, procedures, and incident reporting requirements are followed. Provide project updates to Project Managers and complete all required project documentation. You may be required to be “on-call” before or after your regularly scheduled hours, and/or on a day when you are not regularly scheduled to work. Other duties as required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATION 5  Plus years of experience in a technical role within the audio visual industry. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail. Progressive experience installing and maintaining complex Audio-Visual systems in a commercial environment. Flexibility to work in a variety of environments, from construction sites to finished corporate offices. Valid Driver’s License and clean abstract. Must be able to pass a background check PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working in the hospitality, healthcare, and/or post-secondary industries. CTS, CTS-I, Extron, Biamp, Crestron, Q-SYS, Poly and other certifications. PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES:  Proper hand and power tool operations and safety.  Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under minimal supervision. Ability to organize workload for effective implementation. Ability to complete projects on time and on budget. Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures. Ability to function as an effective team member. Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of power tools will be required to effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet). WORKING CONDITIONS: In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, work on job sites, may be required to travel to and from job site locations, may work in a typical office environment, and is occasionally exposed to construction equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Confined space entry may be required. High work may be required. A typical day could see you working on a variety of commercial installations including, hospitals, airports, corporate offices, and casinos to name just a few.<br><br><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES </strong><ul><li>Installation and servicing of cabling infrastructure, audio/visual systems, and presentation technologies, including pre-wiring, equipment installation, termination, testing, labeling, troubleshooting, reporting, and commissioning in accordance with specifications and drawings.</li><li>Program and commission control through the use of Crestron Toolbox, Extron Toolbelt, and Tesira software.</li><li>Configure device IDs, IP addresses, and system settings, while maintaining accurate programming records and project documentation.</li><li>Build equipment racks and maintain a high standard of cable management and workmanship.</li><li>Read and interpret system schematics, construction drawings, and project documentation.</li><li>Organize and maintain efficiency with onsite activities and project goals while providing leadership and technical guidance to the project team.</li><li>Load program files, update firmware, and perform system verification and testing.</li><li>Ensure all safety policies, procedures, and incident reporting requirements are followed.</li><li>Provide project updates to Project Managers and complete all required project documentation.</li><li>You may be required to be “on-call” before or after your regularly scheduled hours, and/or on a day when you are not regularly scheduled to work.</li><li>Other duties as required.</li></ul><br><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATION</strong><ul><li>5  Plus years of experience in a technical role within the audio visual industry.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail.</li><li>Progressive experience installing and maintaining complex Audio-Visual systems in a commercial environment.</li><li>Flexibility to work in a variety of environments, from construction sites to finished corporate offices.</li><li>Valid Driver’s License and clean abstract.</li><li>Must be able to pass a background check</li></ul><br><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong><ul><li>Experience working in the hospitality, healthcare, and/or post-secondary industries.</li><li>CTS, CTS-I, Extron, Biamp, Crestron, Q-SYS, Poly and other certifications.</li></ul><br><strong>PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES: </strong><ul><li>Proper hand and power tool operations and safety. </li><li>Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under minimal supervision.</li><li>Ability to organize workload for effective implementation.</li><li>Ability to complete projects on time and on budget.</li><li>Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one-on-one and small group situations.</li><li>Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.</li><li>Ability to function as an effective team member.</li><li>Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves.</li></ul><br><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS: </strong><br>In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.<ul><li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop.
