    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Onondaga Community College, located in Syracuse, NY is currently recruiting for a Business, Entrepreneurship, and Culinary Management Full-time Tenure Track Faculty.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Department of Business & Entrepreneurship requires a full-time professor able to teach management, operations, entrepreneurship, leadership, culinary principles, bakery principles, and human resources. The position has the essential job functions required of all full-time faculty: teaching, student advising & mentoring, and service. The successful candidate will possess strong management and team building expertise, enhance the department's diversity, and be able to relate to our diverse student population.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The successful candidate will be qualified to teach several of the following classes.  Programs: Business Administration (A.S.) - SUNY Onondaga Community College; Business Entrepreneurship (A.A.S). -SUNY Onondaga Community College; Culinary Management (A.A.S.). </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>BUS-101 Introduction to Business </li>\n <li>BUS-230 Principles of Management </li>\n <li>BUS-231 Human Resource Management  </li>\n <li>ENT-101 Entrepreneurial Studies I   </li>\n <li>ENT-201 Entrepreneurial Studies II  </li>\n <li>FSA-103C Culinary Principles with lab </li>\n <li>FSA-103B Bakery Principles with lab </li>\n <li>FSA-230 Entrepreneurship in Hospitality with lab </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: </strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Be responsive to student questions and available for student support  </li>\n <li>Use appropriate technology to enhance learning  </li>\n <li>Assess learning outcomes and adapt curriculum to meet learning objectives  </li>\n <li>Demonstrate insight and encouragement in working with diverse student populations, especially students traditionally underrepresented in higher education  </li>\n <li>Provide appropriate academic advising to students to support timely degree completion  </li>\n <li>Be innovative in the presentation of lectures and hands-on learning activities that achieve learning outcomes  </li>\n <li>Provide timely feedback on students' assignments and exams throughout each semester  </li>\n <li>Be accountable to meet the needs of the Department and the College, including timely submission of grades and other required materials.  </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Min Compensation </h2>USD $61,466.00/Yr.\n<h2>Max Compensation </h2>USD $61,466.00/Yr.\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</strong> </p>\n<p>Appointment at the Rank of Assistant Professor:  </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Candidates must have earned a master's degree in business administration (MBA) from an accredited university, college or foreign equivalency.  Additional degrees or certifications demonstrate a breadth of learning, experience, and professional development will enhance an applicant's candidacy.  </li>\n <li>Valid National Restaurant Association ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certificate.  </li>\n <li>Previous college teaching experience in face-to-face and online (synchronous and asynchronous) modalities are required in Business, Entrepreneurship, and Culinary Management.   </li>\n <li>Small business owner with at least 10 years' experience as a small business owner in the food service industry such as sandwich shops, bakery and/or food truck owner.  </li>\n <li>Curriculum development and assessment mapping experience at the college level. </li>\n <li>Practical work experience in the fields of business, leadership, management operations, food service, small business owner, and human resources is required.   </li>\n <li>The successful candidate will combine mastery of business, entrepreneurial leadership, management, operations, and human resources theory with a demonstrated history and strong working knowledge of how the concepts apply in practice.  </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>MBA and a master's degree in education (M.Ed.) from an accredited university, college or foreign equivalency.</li>\n <li>Experience in curriculum development at the college level. </li>\n <li>Quality Matters (QM) online certification and experience in Brightspace D2L LMS. </li>\n <li>Bilingual in Spanish & English. English and another language will be considered. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>In addition to their educational and professional credentials, the successful candidate must be a self-starter with an impeccable work ethic skilled at communication, organization, team building, and collaboration.
