Description Position # : 9006833 Expected Start Date: June 22, 2026 Union: SUN Facility: Addictions Treatment Centre - Regina City/Town: Regina Department: Addiction Services Community Case Management - SUAP Type: Full-time temporary Expected Up to Date: March 31, 2027 FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days Number of Hours per Rotation: 14 shifts of 8 hours per 3 weeks Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: Field Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Nurse B $42.040 to $52.440 Travel Required: No Job Description: As a member of an interdisciplinary team and under the supervision of the Team Leader, the incumbent will be responsible for creating a therapeutic environment in which you will deliver a high standard of care by counseling clients who are diagnosed with chemical dependency and Mental Health concerns. Responsibilities include providing informational programming as well as individual and group therapy sessions, assess for both physical and mental health problems, liaise and assist detox physicians with their detox practice, provide backup nursing services for the Harm Reduction Methadone Program and Drug Treatment Court and liaise with acute care facilities as per referrals into Addiction Services. You will also be expected to assist EMTs in performing their tasks, monitoring and occasionally providing Phlebotomy services at Detox. As a nurse you will administer medications and drug screening tests as required. You will provide medication education to clients and assist medical consultants for the Brief /Social Detox, Methadone Clinic and Drug Treatment Court and other nursing duties as required. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience Expert in assess.,diagnosis &treatment of major mental health & addiction issues Min. 2 years of exp. working w/ clients w/substance use disorder & or BBI/STI Education Graduate of general nursing supplemented by postgrad training in psych nursing. Graduation from an approved school of psychiatric nursing Memberships Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS) College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) Other Education and Training Current PART and CPR certification Knowledge and Abilities To facilitate program development & create strong bonds with addiction providers Knowledge of community resources in the addictions field. To treat addiction & withdrawal from opioids in clinic & outreach setting To develop & present educational info. for clients,team members & other agencies Knowledge in best practices in addictions and harm reduction strategies Knowledge in addictions screening, assessment tools and procedures Ability to deliver workshops and lecture material to clients and community Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals Demonstrated competency in psychiatric mental health assessment Knowledge related to mental and physical needs of clients using assessment tools Knowledge of Indigenous Culture and traditions Knowledge of mood altering medications & how clients are affected by these. Ability to accurately assess addictions and make appropriate recovery plans "Ability to work independently to plan and prioritize workload demands.
