    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 28px\">Job Summary:</span></span></p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Covenant Christian High School (Indianapolis) is dedicated to providing an excellent Christ-centered education, equipping students for lives of scholarship, leadership, and service.</span></em></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Covenant Christian is seeking a strong Christian to be the</span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px\"> Boys/Girls Head Track &amp; Field Coach</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">.  All Covenant coaches should exemplify personal and professional characteristics that we strive to teach our student athletes, pushing them both academically and to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. The position will include but not be limited to spiritual mentorship, growth and development of the program, administration of the program, oversight of coaching staff, and practice and game instruction.  </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Covenant desires that student athletes possess Christ-like characteristics and are able to express them openly through the medium of sports. Our goal is to build eternal values in the students, while at the same time be a testimony of the power of Jesus Christ to all of those that we come in contact with during athletic events. Winning is important, but it is secondary to the Godly principles that the program is striving to instill into the student athlete.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Supervisory Responsibilities:</span></em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Maintain high expectations for student athletes and managers both academically and athletically.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Utilize, organize and work with other assistant coach(es) and team parent(s).</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Duties/Responsibilities:</span></em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Educates individuals, groups, or teams on the rules, strategies, and techniques for the sport.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Plans, organizes, and leads practice sessions.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Trains, encourages, and motivates athletes to prepare them for games.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Teaches safety rules and regulations and ensures they are enforced.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Invests in the spiritual formation of athletes. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Develops physical conditioning programs that equip athletes to meet their potential.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Evaluates team members to determine fitness levels and potential; assigns positions or roles to athletes based on strengths and weaknesses.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Ensures athletes are using equipment properly and safely.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Identifies the strengths and weaknesses of players and modifies coaching strategies accordingly.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Remains current on changes in rules, coaching philosophies and techniques, and technology relevant to particular sport or sports.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Performs other related duties as assigned.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Required Skills/Abilities: </span></em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Excellent leadership and motivational skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Extensive knowledge of the assigned sport.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Ability to work with student athletes.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Excellent communication skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Education and Experience:</span></em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Bachelor’s degree preferred.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">One to two or more years of experience as a high school level coach preferred.</span></li>\n</ul>",
