    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">McCallum Rock Drilling (MRD) is a rock drilling and blasting contractor based out of Chehalis, WA, that has been in business since 1988. MRD operates in commercial quarries, timberlands and construction sites throughout the Western US. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">MRD is seeking a full-time <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Diesel Mechanic </span>to operate out of the Salt Lake City, Utah region. The ideal candidate will assist with the maintenance and repair on all of our rock drill equipment and vehicles. We are looking for an entry-level diesel mechanic that is skilled and has a passion for turning wrenches. Turning wrenches and working on equipment is not all he/she will be doing. There will be times where he/she is needed to transport parts and supplies to operators in the field, or service a pickup at our shop. We are looking for someone who has a great attitude and can be a reliable hand for our lead mechanic. The applicant must be willing to travel and must have a clean driving record. He or she will be expected to pass a pre-employment drug screening test. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino; font-weight: bold\">Minimum Responsibilities include: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Owns hand tools related to diesel repair and maintenance </span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Diagnose common problems quickly and efficiently </span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Diagnose and repair air and oil leaks </span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Ability to reassemble engines in vehicles, rock drills, trailers, and skid steers a plus</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, brakes, hydraulic systems, and suspensions</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Perform preventative maintenance, inspection, and correction of major and minor repairs on all equipment </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Safely operate welder, drill press, grinders, hoist, jacks, air tools, and other shop equipment </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Maintain a safe and clean working area </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Follow all MRD safety policies and procedures </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">At least a couple years of construction or aggregate experience preferred </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Welding experience a plus </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino; font-weight: bold\">Minimum skills and qualifications include: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Able to pass criminal background check, MVR, and drug test </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Valid driver's license with a CLEAN record (no more than 3 minor violations in the last 3 years)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Be able to easily lift 50 lbs</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Willing to work outdoors in ALL weather conditions</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Willing to work all days and hours required</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Ability to work an occasional weekend if needed </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Must have own tools </span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Reliable and a team player </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino; font-weight: bold\">Benefits include: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Medical, Dental, Vision Coverage (100% paid for employee)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">401k Option (4% company match)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">PTO (accrual based)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Employee Referral Bonus Program </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">Career Advancement Opportunities</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino\">40 - 50 hours/week during spring, summer, and fall months (hours will vary during the winter months)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino; font-weight: bold\">Hourly Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 DOE</span></li>\n</ul>",
