The facilitator will help the child successfully participate in classroom activities, social interactions, transitions, and routines while promoting independence and confidence.</p><p>Essential Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Provide consistent one-on-one support throughout the preschool afternoon.</li><li>Assist the child in participating in classroom activities, centers, playground time, and group experiences.</li><li>Support social interactions with peers through modeling, prompting, and encouragement.</li><li>Help the child navigate transitions between activities and maintain engagement in classroom routines.</li><li>Implement strategies and accommodations recommended by parents, therapists, and school staff.</li><li>Monitor the child’s emotional regulation and assist with coping and self-regulation strategies when needed.</li><li>Encourage independence while providing appropriate support.</li><li>Communicate regularly with classroom teachers regarding the child’s progress, successes, and challenges.</li><li>Maintain confidentiality regarding the child and family.</li><li>Follow all preschool policies, procedures, and safety requirements.</li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>Experience working with young children required.</li><li>Experience supporting children with autism, developmental differences, or special needs preferred.</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Ability to remain calm, patient, and positive in a busy preschool environment.</li><li>Ability to follow guidance from teachers, therapists, and parents.</li><li>Must pass all required background checks and meet state childcare requirements.</li></ul><p>Physical Requirements</p><ul><li>Ability to actively participate in classroom and outdoor activities.</li><li>Ability to sit on the floor, bend, kneel, lift up to 25 pounds, and assist with age-appropriate preschool activities.</li></ul><p>Desired Characteristics</p><ul><li>Warm, nurturing, and engaging personality.</li><li>Dependable and punctual.</li><li>Flexible and collaborative team player.</li><li>Committed to helping children build social, emotional, and developmental skills.</li></ul><p>Schedule</p><ul><li>Monday–Friday</li><li>1:30 PM–4:00 PM</li><li>Approximately 12.5 hours per week</li></ul><p>This position is ideal for an education student, retired teacher, paraprofessional, therapist assistant, special education aide, or experienced caregiver who enjoys helping young children thrive in an inclusive preschool environment.</p>",
