Welcome to First Meridian Services—where your future takes flight. role The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to the restaurant’s recipes and standards. The Cook works closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and delivery, contributing to a seamless and efficient kitchen operation. Strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this position. SHIFT DETAILS PM: 1 or 2 PM to closing (close is typically between 10 PM to midnight) Weekend availability is required. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications. Ensure all food is cooked and presented in a timely manner and meets the restaurant's quality standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas. Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and hygienic kitchen environment. Assist in the preparation and portioning of ingredients for use in cooking. Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, fryers, and mixers safely and efficiently. Monitor food stock levels and communicate shortages to the kitchen manager or supervisor. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely service. Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper storage procedures are followed. I participate in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensils. Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced environment. The temperature, volume of noise, and exposure to the public is outside the control of First Meridian Services, Inc. The position requires use of public spaces as provided by the airport. Restaurant: This position may require frequent exposure to a restaurant or retail operation environment. Regular exposure to varying temperatures (hot/cold/freezing), fumes, vapors, industrial restaurant equipment, noise, and guests will be a common occurrence. The nature of restaurant work requires the Cook to possess certain physical abilities. Those listed here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform this job. Most of the workday is spent standing or walking and working in close proximity to others. Eye-hand coordination, depth perception, finger dexterity, and functional vision and speech perception are required. Some bending, crouching, pushing/pulling and lifting/lowering of 20-50 lbs. Some repetitive motions with hands, wrists, or arms. Must be able to operate all equipment used in the restaurant. Some exposure to skin irritants, electrical equipment, and sharp instruments. Risk to these exposures is minimized by strict adherence to company standards, policies and procedures.
