Salary Range: $15.16 - $18.46 Hourly
Job Summary:
Youth Enrichment and the Rodarte Community Center promotes a positive presence in our community. We strive to engage youth through programming that promotes leadership, academic achievement, health, and development of important life skills. Our team is looking for individuals to lead Youth Service Specialists in appropriate age groups in creating memorable experiences, as well as mentoring our community’s youth.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills:
Minimum requirements:
A 2-year college degree in child development or early childhood education; or
Current certification as a Child Development Associate (CDA) or Certified Childcare Professional (CCP) or other Department-approved credential; or
Completion of 2 years of college education with at least 1 college course in child development, plus 6 months (910 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of 4 or more children under 6 years of age who are not related to the individual; or
12 semester hours in college-level credits in the area of child growth and development and /or early childhood education, plus 9 months (1,395) hours of verified experience in the care and supervision of 4 or more children under 6 years of age who are not related to the individual; or completion of a course of training approved by the Department that includes training and work experience with children; or
Completion of a vocational or occupational education sequence in child growth and development plus 12 months (1,820) hours of verified experience in the care and supervision of 4 or more children under 6 years of age who are not related to the individual; or
36 months (5,460) of verified experience in the care and supervision of 4 or more children under 6 years of age who are not related to the individual. Is CPR/AED First Aid certified or willing to complete within 30 days. Preferred

Knowledge of the business and organizational structure of Colorado municipalities. Collaboration skills, including the ability to work with others from different areas and backgrounds to reach a common goal. Computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and learn and experiment with new software and systems. Interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate interaction, communication, and teamwork between others. Oral, written, and listening communication skills, including the ability to accurately interpret what others are saying and convey messages, information, concepts, and details accurately and clearly. Organizational skills, including the ability to set and meet goals and deadlines, manage appointments, create schedules, coordinate and facilitate meetings, and make decisions. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple concurrent and competing tasks and responsibilities, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining personal effectiveness. Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and stay on task when completing special projects and daily assignments. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and reliable professional judgment, as well as collaboratively with a team to achieve desired results. Ability to maintain a strong work ethic, positive problem-solving attitude, and enthusiasm for the work performed. Ability to self-start and take initiative in completing daily tasks and special projects. Ability to focus on activities that have the greatest impact on meeting work commitments. Ability to establish and maintain partnerships with a variety of internal and external constituencies. Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and ages. Ability to work evenings. Essential Functions:
Utilizes various technology platforms in Microsoft and Brightwheel. Handles stressful situations. Ensures the safety of all team members and guests at the facility. Supervises, guides, and assists participants during art/crafts, recreational activities, and other activities. Leads and supervises Youth Service Specialist in implementing programs. Executes instructional plans using accepted teaching methods, coaching methods, and individual instruction. Effectively communicates with participants, parents/guardians, and public effectively and appropriately. Sets up and takes down necessary equipment prior to and after programs, which includes cleaning and organizing. Assists in the organization and administration of special events. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Work is performed primarily outdoors. Physical activity with youth. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to perform work outdoors and remain physically active for long periods of time. Ability to lift up to 49 pounds. Ability to participate in activities with program participants.
