Building on Michael Baker International’s more than 85‑year legacy, IDA supports the firm’s long-term growth strategy through technical excellence, informed decision making, and practical solutions focused on high‑performance buildings, intelligent systems, secure digital environments, and critical infrastructure.</p>\n<p><strong>JOB DESCRIPTION</strong></p>\n<p>We are looking for a Building Structural Engineer to join our National Integrative Design &amp; Advisory team in Boston (Waltham), Massachusetts. In this role, you will work under minimal supervision to analyze design criteria, applicable codes, and client requirements. You will prepare calculations necessary for the production of structural engineering construction drawings and specifications for both building and non-building projects.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepares moderately complex studies, construction documents, basic reports and other supporting documentation to support structural building design.</li>\n <li>Prepares technical specifications.</li>\n <li>Interprets data and prepares drawings for building and vertical non-building projects.</li>\n <li>Provide engineering and project support to the Designer of Record (DOR).</li>\n <li>Act as DOR, as required.</li>\n <li>Ability to deliver projects and/or tasks on time and within allotted budget</li>\n <li>Provide clear redlines for EIT’s and BIM designers.</li>\n <li>Ability to check design calculations performed by others.</li>\n <li>Ability to handle multiple projects.</li>\n <li>Ability to follow MBI project standards and team protocols.</li>\n <li>Ability to review and comment on construction submittals, respond to Contractor Requests for Information (RFI) and review corrective action for field errors.</li>\n <li>High proficiency in Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat PDF, and MS Teams.</li>\n <li>Communicates with Senior Engineers, other disciplines and Project Managers, schedules and attends internal meetings, as necessary, and documents important action items for the next meeting.</li>\n <li>Assists with proposal production and implementing marketing initiatives.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>JOB REQUIREMENTS:&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Structural, Architectural or Civil Engineering.</li>\n <li>Master’s degree preferred.</li>\n <li>Must have 4 – 8 years of structural engineering experience</li>\n <li>Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE)&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Proficiency with RAM SS, RISA 3D, Tekla Structural Designer, ETABS, Revit, Enercalc, Microsoft Excel, MS Office Suite&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Familiar with structural design codes such as IBC, ASCE 7, ASCE 41, AISC, TMS, and ACI.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Familiar with Unified Facilities Criteria and UFGS.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Maintain professional licensure in state which employee resides.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Available for periodic travel.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>COMPENSATION:&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>The approximate compensation range for this position is $93,719 to $147,641.&nbsp; This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.&nbsp; Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.</p>\n<p><strong>BENEFITS</strong></p>\n<p>We offer a comprehensive benefits package including: &nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Medical, dental, vision insurance &nbsp;</li>\n <li>401K Retirement Plan</li>\n <li>Health Savings Account (HSA)</li>\n <li>Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)</li>\n <li>Life, AD&amp;D, short-term and long-term disability &nbsp;</li>\n <li>Professional and personal development</li>\n <li>Generous paid time off &nbsp;</li>\n <li>Commuter and wellness benefits</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>#LI-HYBRID #LI-KR1</p>",
