ICU experience preferred.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>All levels of experience and education will be considered for this role.</strong></p>\n<h2>Description</h2>\n<p>The Occupational Therapist II serves as a primary clinician, providing comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations, treatments, and education to patients with complex medical and surgical conditions. This role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, setting measurable patient goals, ensuring high-quality care in alignment with established standards and serving as a Clinical Instructor for entry level and long-term students.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Key Duties and Responsibilities:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Patient Care & Treatment:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Conducts comprehensive evaluations, testing, and treatment for patients with complex medical and surgical conditions.</li>\n <li>Educates patients and their families in a manner tailored to their needs.</li>\n <li>Develops and adjusts individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals.</li>\n <li>Ensures daily practices align with established patient care standards.</li>\n <li>Recommends appropriate equipment for patient care.</li>\n <li>Assists other staff in assessing patients and problems.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Collaboration & Communication:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Communicates effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.</li>\n <li>Participates in interdisciplinary team conferences to enhance patient care.</li>\n <li>Works cooperatively with other team members to maintain a positive and results-oriented work environment.</li>\n <li>Collaborates with care teams and community resources for post-discharge planning and follow-up.</li>\n <li>Responds to requests for professional information or advice, referring complex matters to appropriate personnel.</li>\n <li>Participates in quality assurance activities.</li>\n <li>Assist the department in performing peer reviews and giving feedback to support staff.</li>\n <li>Participates in patient care committee initiatives as requested by the department.</li>\n <li>Mentors staff as appropriate.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Operational Responsibilities:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Plans treatment schedules for optimal staff and equipment use.</li>\n <li>Maintains productivity while adhering to quality standards.</li>\n <li>Monitors and ensures compliance with infection control and sterile technique protocols.</li>\n <li>Documents patient care details and records service charges accurately.</li>\n <li>Manages inventory, equipment maintenance, and work area organization.</li>\n <li>Serves as a Clinical Instructor for short term students</li>\n <li>Assists with new staff orientation.</li>\n <li>Assists department in maintaining a clear and accurate interdisciplinary and interdepartmental information flow.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Professional Development & Compliance:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Attends relevant educational in-services and professional activities to stay current on industry practices.</li>\n <li>Works with the Leader to develop a professional growth plan.</li>\n <li>Delegates tasks effectively as appropriate.</li>\n <li>Adheres to all applicable policies, protocols, and regulations.</li>\n <li>Supports and participates in research activities as requested by the department.</li>\n <li>Contributes to the professional community and community at large.</li>\n <li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Minimum Required Qualifications:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Education: Graduation from an Occupational Therapy Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Experience: At least one year of clinical experience as an occupational therapist.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Licensure: A valid, unencumbered Occupational Therapist License approved by Georgia Board of Occupational Therapy.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Certifications:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Basic Life Support (BLS)</li>\n <li>Must maintain their certification with NBCOT.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium Max 25lbs): up to 25 lbs., 0-33% of the workday (infrequently) Lifting 25 lbs. max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs.; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environmental conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure, Bio-hazardous waste chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, Communicable diseases, Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required.
