    "description": "<h2> Overview</h2>\n<p>The Head Lifeguard's primary responsibility is the supervision of pool staff, patrons, and the entire pool facility in compliance with the local board of health regulations. The person in this position is responsible for guarding the pool, ensuring the safety of all patrons, enforcing the pool rules, maintaining cleanliness and sanitary conditions around the pool facility, and implementing the emergency protocols as needed. The Head Lifeguard is also responsible for administering aquatic programs and activities as set forth by the Department, including teaching swim lessons, coaching the youth swim team, supervising group swim activities, and assisting with other aquatic activities.</p>\n<h2> Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Conducts lifeguard training courses. </li>\n <li>Supervises pool staff, patrons, and the entire pool facility in compliance with local board of health regulations. </li>\n <li>Prevents emergencies by performing surveillance while scanning the pool in a continuous and consistent manner, and performing assists or rescues as needed.</li>\n <li>Develops, implements, and oversees various aquatic programs and activities such as, but not limited to: swimming lessons, youth swim team, stroke clinics, lap and recreational swims, family swims, water aerobics, among others. </li>\n <li>Maintains accurate daily pool records (including chemical treatments and backwashing when required), as well as sustains sanitary conditions in and around the pool, locker rooms, shower areas, and toilets.  </li>\n <li>Ensures that pools meet all health and safety standards, including a clean and safe environment, appropriate air and water temperature, chemical balance, and timely pool water testing and backwashing. </li>\n <li>Complies with the Department’s uniform regulations as required by the local health code.  </li>\n <li>Attends all required in-service trainings.</li>\n <li>Performs required lifeguard surveillance and ensures that there is always a lifeguard on duty whenever the pool is being used. </li>\n <li>Enforces the Department’s pool rules and regulations to ensure adherence to the code of conduct and in an effort to prevent emergencies.  </li>\n <li>Performs related work as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2> Minimum Entrance Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Qualified applicants must have a current certification in Lifeguard Training. The Certification includes Lifeguard Skills, First Aid, and CPR/AED. </li>\n <li>Three (3) years of lifeguard experience preferred. </li>\n <li>American Red Cross (ARC) Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification and Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) are required. </li>\n <li>Competitive swimming experience is preferred.</li>\n <li>Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings and/or weekends as needed. </li>\n <li>Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. </li>\n <li>Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the position.</li>\n <li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, multi-tasking skills, and the ability to work under pressure.</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite preferred.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team-oriented work environment and diverse organization, including continuously interacting and working with individuals from different backgrounds and cultures.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>C.O.R.I. & S.O.R.I.
