Description

True North Salmon, a division of Cooke Aquaculture Inc., a dynamic and growing east coast family company, with Platinum Member status in the Canada’s Best Managed Companies Program, has an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our Wharf Crew with our Harvest Team based out of Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick . Cooke is a global seafood company with operations in North America, Europe, and South America. The Role Reporting to the Harvest Manager, the duties of this job require the supervision and use of harvest vessel equipment and an understanding of proper fish handling to successfully offload fish from the vessel to the tanker trucks without compromising quality. Wharf crew lead hand is also responsible for supervising minor maintenance, preventative maintenance, and cleaning of harvest equipment as required. This is a hands-on position and requires working with and supervising all aspects of the offloading operation. This is a week on/week off position; work schedule may vary depending on the arrival of the Harvest Vessel A successful candidates will possess the following qualifications: Must hold, or be willing to obtain, confined space training upon hire A willingness to work flexible hours is a requirement of this position Must hold or be willing to obtain forklift certification Preference will be given to applicants with supervisory experience. Wharf crew experience and basic mechanical ability would be considered an asset. *As per company policy, a clear result of a pre-employment criminal background check.
