    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span>Mi-C3 is seeking a skilled, highly analytical Business Intelligence Specialist/ Report writer, who’s passionate about the intersection of technology and Intelligence Analysis (Corporate or Government - Military, Police, or Law Enforcement). The successful Business Intelligence Specialist/ Report writer will be responsible for creating reports for data created in the Mi-Fusion system, our Flagship Intelligence software.</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span>This role provides deep technical and business support for all aspects of data acquisition, data analysis, data interpretation, and interactive data visualizations.  The role enables us to assist our clients in extracting greater value from raw datasets that are varied in their composition, that are growing constantly, and tend to get more complex over time. At its core, we help our clients visualize their data in new and more informative ways than ever before.</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span>The candidate will have an advanced understanding of SQL, ETL tools, data ingestion, data discovery &amp; analysis, data cleansing, data transformation, data modelling, and data visualization. </span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span>JOB REQUIREMENTS</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Understand ETL concepts of data flow, data enrichment, data consolidation and transformation</span></li>\n<li><span>Understand database concepts of referential integrity, indexes and keys and table metadata</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to design and develop Data Warehouse ETL processes and associated reporting</span></li>\n<li><span>Architect, design (including data model), develop, implement, and maintain code for ETL Transformation</span></li>\n<li><span>Architect and design queries to enable complex report construction - understanding that these are informed by business and other analytical demands..</span></li>\n<li><span>Expertise in one or more of these areas: data security, data storage, data ingestion, data streaming, data processing, data analysis &amp; exploration, data quality, data visualization (using reporting &amp; business intelligence), business process management/business rules processing, data exchange, or data modeling.</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to collaborate with Business Analysts/ BPE’s and architects to analyze business requirements, develop data model strategies  and develop technical design specifications</span></li>\n<li><span>5 year's experience as a BI Analyst, BI Developer or Data Analyst</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span>TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Database - Intermediate to advanced skills for doing SQL database queries and associated functions</span></li>\n<li><span>Database - Exposure to Time Series Database technologies such as Druid would be advantageous</span></li>\n<li><span>Familiarity with alternative data storage and transfer format such as JSON advantageous</span></li>\n<li><span>Familiarity with GraphQL advantageous</span></li>\n<li><span>Transformation tool - Experience with a transformation tool such as Pentaho Data Integration (kettle, database AND spoon) would be advantageous, but is not a necessity </span></li>\n<li><span>Report writer tools - Experience with Reporting tools such as SuperSet, Pentaho, Tableau, or similar.</span></li>\n<li><span>Source control: Experience using Git version control software would be advantageous</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span>PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Self-starter with a proactive attitude</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team</span></li>\n<li><span>Strong attention to detail</span></li>\n<li><span>Excellent communication skills — clear, regular, and accurate</span></li>\n<li><span>Naturally inquisitive; asks questions and avoids assumptions</span></li>\n<li><span>Confident and willing to engage thoughtfully</span></li>\n<li><span>Innovative thinker with the ability to handle situations in real time</span></li>\n<li><span>Capable of working well under pressure in a client-facing environment</span></li>\n<li><span>Previous experience in private security, police, military, or government agencies is preferred</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span>OTHER REQUIREMENTS</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Eligibility for Top-Level Security Clearance:</span>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance at the highest level, in accordance with applicable national security regulations.</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span>On-Site Work Requirement:</span>\n<ul>\n<li><span>This role requires full-time, on-site presence at the client’s premises located in Pretoria.
