We operate year-round and offer touring and camping pitches, holiday homes, camping pods (Wigwams), and shepherd huts. Our guests expect a high-quality outdoor experience, with peak periods delivering a fast-paced, high-energy working environment.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">The Role</span></p>\n<p>As a Maintenance Assistant, you will play a key hands-on role in maintaining the park to consistently high standards of safety, appearance, and functionality. This is a practical, outdoor position requiring reliability, technical competence, and pride in workmanship.</p>\n<p>Working hours are primarily between <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">8:00am and 6:00pm</span>, with occasional later finishes of up to <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">9:00pm</span> during peak periods, particularly around the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks across the park</li>\n<li>Maintain grounds and landscaped areas to ensure a safe, clean, and well-presented environment</li>\n<li>Operate, inspect, and maintain tools, machinery, and equipment safely</li>\n<li>Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance issues as they arise</li>\n<li>Work effectively both independently and as part of the wider park team</li>\n<li>Interact courteously with guests, contributing to an excellent customer experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Core Technical &amp; Practical Skills</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Equipment Operation:</span> Confident and safe use of power tools and machinery, including ride-on mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and pressure washers</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Horticultural Knowledge:</span> Practical understanding of plant care, including pruning, weeding, pest control, and awareness of soil types, fertilisers, and seasonal maintenance requirements</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Grounds Care:</span> Grass cutting, hedge trimming, strimming, and basic landscaping duties</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">General Maintenance:</span> Minor repairs to fences, gates, and irrigation systems, along with basic painting, carpentry, and plumbing tasks</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Health &amp; Safety:</span> Sound knowledge of UK health and safety requirements, risk assessments, and the safe handling of chemicals (PA1/PA6 certification desirable)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Essential Skills &amp; Attributes</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong attention to detail and a consistently high standard of finish</li>\n<li>Ability to carry out regular outdoor physical duties in all weather conditions, with reasonable adjustments where applicable</li>\n<li>Effective time management and the ability to prioritise workloads</li>\n<li>Clear, professional communication skills</li>\n<li>A practical, solutions-focused approach with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility </li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Requirements</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full UK driving licence (B+E trailer entitlement desirable) </li>\n<li>Tractor driving and implement competence is desirable, though not essential.</li>\n<li>Ability to work unsupervised when required</li>\n<li>Willingness to work flexible hours during peak season</li>\n<li>Chainsaw operation or herbicide spraying certificates are desirable but not essential</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>This role will suit a practical individual who genuinely enjoys outdoor work and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
