Founded in 1999, Buddy Moore Trucking was built on the experience of E.H. “Buddy” Moore Jr., whose 60 plus years in the trucking industry, including 10 years as an over-the-road driver, helped shape a company rooted in the driver perspective. From an initial fleet of 15 flatbed trucks, the company has grown into a multi division transportation provider with a fleet of over 370 trucks, including more than 150 in the flatbed division, 50 plus in the specialized pole division, and over 110 in the van division, along with a strong network of more than 60 owner operators and dedicated accounts. Through steady growth and strategic expansion, Buddy Moore Trucking has established a strong presence across the Southeast, operating seven terminals. In 2024, the company joined PS Logistics, one of the largest privately held transportation and logistics companies in the United States. Today, the company continues to deliver reliable, high-quality service while maintaining a driver first culture and staying committed to the drivers and employees who make that possible. A qualified Diesel Mechanic /Technician will be able to diagnose, provide estimates, and repairs on highly complex electrical and mechanical systems, on class eight tractors.  You will routinely make best valued decisions with SAFETY as the determining factor regarding continued operation VS, repair or replace, then perform technical repairs and replacement. Uses technical publications and other internet-based manuals, technical guides, or check sheets.  Some employees in this role function as local shop subject matter experts [SME] on all tractor systems. Further, the same may be a resource for Warranty, the Senior Maintenance Leadership Team, and Training Department. Maintain excellent customer service while providing quality and efficient repairs on Class 8 Tractor and Trailers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Value our customers with a high standard of excellence in quality & efficient repairs as well as excellent customer service Diagnose, repair & maintain Class 8 tractors and trailers by analyzing diagnostic test results (computerized, sound, visual, feel, smell, etc.) Conduct road tests as needed for diagnosis of repairs and quality of repair completion Perform Federal DOT inspections as well as preventative maintenance Perform light and heavy-duty repairs Maintain company owned tools Maintain company owned service trucks Participate in company paid training & continuing education of OEM spec changes Valid state driver’s license / US work authorization Dependable, organized & self-motivated (Preferred) A or B CDL, clear of violations/accidents & provide current DOT medical certificate Minimum 1yr experience as a Class 8 technician diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical, hydraulic and diesel systems on Class 8 tractors & trailers (Preferred) Computerized diagnostic skills Willing to obtain certifications (ASE & OEM) Excellent communication skills Basic computer skills (Outlook Email, RO Software, Inventory, etc.) Must provide and maintain personal tools and storage boxes Maintenance background High School Diploma/GED This job is an hourly position with no guarantees for career progression.  This does not mean that you will not be considered for other positions or opportunities.
