POSITION TYPE: Indefinite
LOCATION: Inuvik, NT (preferred) or Calgary, AB
SCHEDULE: Full-Time

ABOUT INUVIALUIT REGIONAL CORPORATION (IRC)
IRC was created in 1984 to represent the Inuvialuit and their rights and benefits obtained under one of Canada's oldest comprehensive land claim agreements. With assets over $1 billion, not including vast land holdings, IRC is responsible for corporate investment, land management, and a broad range of social, cultural, and economic programs and services benefiting Inuvialuit. Its subsidiaries have interests in grocery, manufacturing, property management, transportation, and significant dealings in the oil and gas industry.
Since its inception, IRC has experienced considerable growth, and its structure and operations have become increasingly complex. Combining local government and service delivery, community development, investment, and operating business divisions, all managed by a single back office, the organization has an array of complexities for the executive staff to navigate. There is an emphasis on fostering understanding, healing, and resilience in a region brimming with unique social challenges and immense potential for transformative change.
JOB SUMMARY
The Inuvialuit Business Enablement Lead drives operational excellence within the procurement function by strengthening procurement capabilities, improving process workflows, and enabling effective adoption of tools and standards across IRC and related entities. The role bridges procurement strategy and day-to-day operational realities by establishing the resources, training, and system support stakeholders need to deliver value, while improving efficiency, compliance, and scalability.
A core focus of this role is enabling Inuvialuit Beneficiaries and northern businesses to participate successfully in IRC’s supply chain by removing practical barriers, improving clarity and access to procurement pathways, and supporting fair, transparent procurement practices aligned with the intent of the Inuvialuit Final Agreement. This role does not manage day-to-day procurement transactions or sourcing execution, except where required to support enablement, testing, training, or process improvement. Unlike operational procurement roles, this position focuses on enabling others to execute procurement effectively through clear processes, tools, training, and data, rather than directly managing procurement activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education / Designations
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Minimum Experience
5+ years of related experience in procurement, supply chain, or process enablement roles.

Helping people learn new tools or ways of working, such as rolling out a new system, creating simple guides, or delivering hands‑on training.
Working with Indigenous‑owned, northern, or small businesses and understanding the practical barriers they face when engaging with larger organizations.
Experience translating rules, policies, or technical requirements into clear, usable guidance for non‑technical audiences.
Partnering across departments (finance, IT, legal, operations) to solve shared problems without formal authority.
Using data, spreadsheets, or reports to spot issues, track progress, or support better decisions.
Working in environments with high accountability, public interest, or audit requirements, where fairness and transparency matter.
Assets
Master’s degree in a related field.
Experience leading organizational transformation and/or enablement programs.
Familiarity with structured change methodologies (e.g., Prosci/ADKAR).
Advanced Excel and data visualization skills (e.g., Power BI).
Experience working in Indigenous, northern, or remote contexts.
