Description

COMPETITION: 202613-C POSITION TYPE: Indefinite LOCATION:   Inuvik, NT (preferred) or Calgary, AB SCHEDULE: Full-Time COMPETITION CLOSE DATE: Open Until Filled ABOUT INUVIALUIT REGIONAL CORPORATION (IRC) IRC was created in 1984 to represent the Inuvialuit and their rights and benefits obtained under one of Canada's oldest comprehensive land claim agreements. With assets over $1 billion, not including vast land holdings, IRC is responsible for corporate investment, land management, and a broad range of social, cultural, and economic programs and services benefiting Inuvialuit. Its subsidiaries have interests in grocery, manufacturing, property management, transportation, and significant dealings in the oil and gas industry. Since its inception, IRC has experienced considerable growth, and its structure and operations have become increasingly complex. Combining local government and service delivery, community development, investment, and operating business divisions, all managed by a single back office, the organization has an array of complexities for the executive staff to navigate. There is an emphasis on fostering understanding, healing, and resilience in a region brimming with unique social challenges and immense potential for transformative change. JOB SUMMARY The Inuvialuit Business Enablement Lead drives operational excellence within the procurement function by strengthening procurement capabilities, improving process workflows, and enabling effective adoption of tools and standards across IRC and related entities. The role bridges procurement strategy and day-to-day operational realities by establishing the resources, training, and system support stakeholders need to deliver value, while improving efficiency, compliance, and scalability. A core focus of this role is enabling Inuvialuit Beneficiaries and northern businesses to participate successfully in IRC’s supply chain by removing practical barriers, improving clarity and access to procurement pathways, and supporting fair, transparent procurement practices aligned with the intent of the Inuvialuit Final Agreement. This role does not manage day-to-day procurement transactions or sourcing execution, except where required to support enablement, testing, training, or process improvement. Unlike operational procurement roles, this position focuses on enabling others to execute procurement effectively through clear processes, tools, training, and data, rather than directly managing procurement activities. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education / Designations Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Minimum Experience 5+ years of related experience in procurement, supply chain, or process enablement roles. Experience That Prepares You for This Role Working in procurement, finance, operations, or supply chain roles where you helped improve how goods and services are purchased, tracked, or paid for. Supporting or leading process improvements, especially where systems, policies, and real‑world practices didn’t always line up. Helping people learn new tools or ways of working, such as rolling out a new system, creating simple guides, or delivering hands‑on training. Working with Indigenous‑owned, northern, or small businesses and understanding the practical barriers they face when engaging with larger organizations. Experience translating rules, policies, or technical requirements into clear, usable guidance for non‑technical audiences. Partnering across departments (finance, IT, legal, operations) to solve shared problems without formal authority. Using data, spreadsheets, or reports to spot issues, track progress, or support better decisions. Working in environments with high accountability, public interest, or audit requirements, where fairness and transparency matter. Assets Master’s degree in a related field. Experience leading organizational transformation and/or enablement programs. Familiarity with structured change methodologies (e.g., Prosci/ADKAR). Advanced Excel and data visualization skills (e.g., Power BI). Experience working in Indigenous, northern, or remote contexts. SCMP – Supply Chain Management Professional (Supply Chain Canada) MCIPS / Chartered Procurement and Supply Professional (CIPS) Inuvialuit beneficiaries and northern residents are strongly encouraged to apply. Relevant experience will be given equal consideration to formal education. Please refer to the job description for a full list of duties and qualifications. TO APPLY Please submit your resume and cover letter by pressing the Apply for This Job button at the top right of this web page and follow the application steps. We encourage timely submissions of applications as candidates will be actively reviewed and the interview process may begin prior to the closing date. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Priority consideration is given to beneficiaries of the Inuvialuit Final Agreement (IFA) please identify in your application if you are a beneficiary of the IFA. The position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal Record Check. An eligibility list may be established for hiring for similar positions based on performance in this competition. Casual or term positions may be considered for future conversion to indeterminate status. Applicants who do not meet all qualifications are encouraged to apply and may be considered for appointment at a lower level with a development plan. If you require accommodations for the recruitment process, please contact us at [email protected] to let us know how we can assist you. We would like to thank everyone in advance for applying as only that shortlisted will be contacted.
