Ultimately, the Controller serves as the foundation of financial integrity and trust within the organization.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Primary Location:</strong> Toronto, ON </p>\n<p><strong>Work Model:</strong><strong> </strong>Hybrid</p>\n<p><strong>Employment </strong>Type: Permanent Full-Time</p>\n<p><strong>Vacancy Status:</strong><strong> </strong>New</p>\n<p><strong>Compensation Range:</strong><strong> </strong>$85,000 – $100,000 CAD</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting </li>\n <li>Prepare financial statements and management reports, ensuring consistency and integrity across all financial data </li>\n <li>Maintain and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and financial governance standards </li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions </li>\n <li>Lead audit preparation and external auditor relationships, ensuring readiness and efficiency </li>\n <li>Oversee revenue recognition and margin tracking, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and business guidelines </li>\n <li>Validate cost allocation, payroll, and expense accuracy, maintaining high data quality and control discipline </li>\n <li>Partner with Operations and Finance to support forecasting inputs and variance analysis </li>\n <li>Strengthen financial processes, workflows, and documentation, reducing reliance on ad hoc tools and manual processes </li>\n <li>Identify financial risks and control gaps, and implement mitigation strategies to protect the business </li>\n <li>Provide accurate financial data and insights to support executive decision-making and planning cycles </li>\n <li>Act as a financial steward, ensuring discipline and integrity without taking on operational ownership</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA) required </li>\n <li>7–10+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or controllership roles, ideally in a growing organization </li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of Canadian and American financial accounting standards, revenue recognition, and regulatory compliance </li>\n <li>Proven experience managing month-end close, audits, and financial reporting processes </li>\n <li>Solid understanding of controls, risk management, and financial governance frameworks </li>\n <li>Experience working cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and executive leadership </li>\n <li>Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues, interpret data, and support decision-making </li>\n <li>High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and process discipline </li>\n <li>Experience improving financial systems, processes, and reporting infrastructure </li>\n <li>Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders </li>\n <li>Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>ABOUT ADASTRA</strong></p>\n<p>Adastra is a global leader in AI and data-driven transformation, helping organizations lead with artificial intelligence—responsibly, strategically, and at scale.
