Description Description of Job Duty: The Department of Exercise Science at Tennessee Tech invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Sport Management. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, engage in scholarly research, and provide service to the department, college, university, and the profession. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, research productivity, and active participation in academic and professional service. Tennessee Tech is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer. Responsibilities Essential Functions: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Sport Management in both face-to-face and online formats. Advise and mentor students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Conduct and disseminate scholarly research in Sport Management or related fields. Pursue external funding through grants, contracts, and/or sponsored research. Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation processes. Contribute to departmental, college, university, and professional service. Engage in partnerships that enhance program growth and visibility. Integrate innovative instructional strategies, including artificial intelligence applications, into teaching and learning. Physical Demands: Those typical of any classroom-type environment or office environment. Special Instructions: Applicants will be required to electronically upload a letter of application that addresses required qualifications and duties, curriculum vitae, copy of transcripts (official transcripts for all degrees conferred required upon hire), teaching philosophy, and complete contact information including email addresses for at least three professional references. References will be contacted to provide a reference letter if selected for interview. Candidate must document teaching experience in a variety of the listed courses by providing course syllabi, course evaluations or other appropriate documentation and demonstrate excellence in teaching by providing course evaluations for one of the following: exercise and sport psychology, sports ethics, sport governance, facilities management, legal issues in sport, sport management, sport marketing and promotion, leadership or risk management. Submission of materials is the responsibility of the applicant. Applications without all required materials are incomplete and will not be considered.
