Direct Support Professionals provide supervision and training in vocational program designed to meet the needs of the individual. Depending on the person-centered needs of the individuals, Direct Support Professionals also provide assistance with living skill development, health maintenance and medication administration, personal care, and behavioral development.</p>\r\n\r\n<p> </p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong><u>Essential Duties:</u></strong> </p>\r\n\r\n<h1><u>Direct Care Duties </u></h1>\r\n\r\n<h2><em><u>Program Plans </u></em></h2>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Implement Individual Program Plans and strategies as written, and at frequency stated in the plan; work with each person served on individual goals and objectives.</li>\r\n\t<li>Understand and follow Risk Management Plans as applicable.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<h2><em><u>Personal Cares </u></em></h2>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Help individuals receiving services with eating, grooming, dressing, bathing, and toileting; assist individuals with their mobility including lifting from seated or lying down position, helping individuals walk and maintain stability.<strong> </strong></li>\r\n\t<li>Assist individuals with skill development and the completion of daily living tasks. <em> </em></li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p><em> </em></p>\r\n\r\n<h2><em><u>Skill Development </u></em></h2>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Active involvement with individuals in goal activities at the place of work and in the community.</li>\r\n\t<li>Help individuals receiving services develop work and daily living skills.</li>\r\n\t<li>Provide input and feedback with regard to programs and care plans.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p> </p>\r\n\r\n<h2><em><u>Behavior Development </u></em></h2>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Accurately implement formal and informal behavior programming.</li>\r\n\t<li>Serve as a role model and mentor; demonstrating desired behaviors, and coaching individuals using approved techniques and strategies.</li>\r\n\t<li>If applicable to the individual, apply therapeutic intervention techniques as needed to individuals with verbal or physical aggression.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p> </p>\r\n\r\n<h2><em><u>Advocacy and Community Living </u></em></h2>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Assist individuals receiving services with achieving personal goals; works on behalf of individuals to overcome barriers; help individuals participate in activities of their choice; respect individuals’ personal beliefs, choices, and interests.</li>\r\n\t<li>Support each individual’s existing relationships, and increase their network of friends and acquaintances.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p> </p>\r\n\r\n<h2><em><u>Written Records </u></em></h2>\r\n\r\n<p>Accurately complete, maintain, and submit all documentation as required by regulations, licensing agencies, and Vocational Program Supervisor.</p>\r\n\r\n<p> </p>\r\n\r\n<h2><em><u>Health Maintenance </u></em></h2>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Provide cares and assistance to promote good health; record information regarding health events, conditions, and status; provides First Aid/CPR and seek medical care when needed.</li>\r\n\t<li>Administers medications according to physician instructions and orders and in accordance with Range Center, Inc. Policies and Procedures. </li>\r\n\t<li>Monitor and apply nutritional programming by providing a well-balanced diet prepared to meet individual needs.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p> </p>\r\n\r\n<h2><em><u>Other </u></em></h2>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Transport individuals (adhering to all safety policies and laws) as needed to meet objectives and program needs.</li>\r\n\t<li>Communicate information regarding each individual to appropriate team members.</li>\r\n\t<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<h1><u>Household Duties </u></h1>\r\n\r\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\r\n\r\n<h2><em><u>Cleaning and Maintenance </u></em></h2>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Provide a clean, safe, comfortable environment for each person.</li>\r\n\t<li>Assist the individual with completing tasks that are beyond the individuals’ abilities, providing ongoing opportunities for individuals to assume increasing control and responsibility including minor maintenance, outside maintenance, laundry, cooking, etc.</li>\r\n\t<li>Assist in assuring vehicle maintenance is being done regularly.</li>\r\n\t<li>Communicate any maintenance or program needs to appropriate staff.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p> </p>\r\n\r\n<h2><em><u>Safety </u></em></h2>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Ensure safety and wellbeing of individual at all times.</li>\r\n\t<li>Conduct routine fire drills and ensure exiting of individual in all emergencies.</li>\r\n\t<li>Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, addressing and/or reporting safety concerns as they arise.</li>\r\n\t<li>Ensure all exits are clear (clutter, snow, ice).</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p> </p>\r\n\r\n<h2><em><u>Professional Duties </u></em></h2>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Adhere to Vulnerable Adult reporting procedures.</li>\r\n\t<li>Supervise individuals at all times to ensure programming and optimum quality of life.</li>\r\n\t<li>Work as scheduled, arriving on time and staying to end of shift. </li>\r\n\t<li>Obtain and maintain all required certifications such as Medication Administration, CPR/FA, etc.  as required by regulation and Range Center, Inc.
