Description Assistant Director of Program Operations Founded in 1981, the NIA Community Services Network is a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing issues that impact youth, families, and seniors. NIA's mission, to strengthen and empower children, families, and communities through comprehensive programming and vital human services is evidenced each day through programming that directly supports and enriches the lives of children and families we serve at nearly 50 sites located across many of New York City's most diverse and underserved neighborhoods through after-school programs, summer day camps, cultural arts opportunities, youth and family counseling services, parent workshops, community assistance, referral services, senior support programs, and community events. Visit us at www.niabklyn.org . The Assistant Director of Program Operations reports to and supports NIA's Director of Program Operations in managing all school—and center-based programming. Responsibilities will include administrative and supervisory tasks as needed to ensure that NIA's programs comply with requirements and operate efficiently and at a high quality. Responsibilities: Act as the primary point of contact for specialized programs and new projects as assigned, including NIA's Cornerstone community center. Play an integral role in the new Cornerstone program's planning, development, launch, and ongoing success. Field questions and concerns as they arise, including during evenings and on weekends, as needed. Flag urgent matters immediately for the Director of Program Operations; share general program updates at least weekly. As needed, assist with data collection and funder reporting, including support with program progress reports, review of program participation rates, and review of program work scopes. As needed, assist with outreach to program leaders and compile responses into a cohesive report for the Director of Program Operations. Review and move forward any requests for program purchases as needed, ensuring they include complete documentation for NIA records; flag requests for follow-up by supervisor if necessary. Assist with the coordination and development of organization-wide program events, including assistance with scheduling, logistics, and day-of event facilitation. Act as the primary point person and supervisor for NIA's Program Supervisor team in the absence of the Director of Program Operations and as the first point of contact for Program Supervisors regarding any program-related questions or emergencies for all NIA after-school program sites. Assist with training of newly hired Program Supervisors as needed. Conduct weekly Program Supervisor and Director meetings in the absence of the Director of Program Operations. Conduct regular review of program compliance status, including mandatory fire safety certificates, CPR/First Aid certifications, and DOH SACC licensing mandates. Qualifications Qualifications Required: Demonstrated experience in community and youth services, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisor capacity. SAC credential or equivalent educational experience required. Familiarity with DYCD, OCFS, DOH, and DOE requirements is preferred. Excellent leadership, supervisory, and team-building skills, including the ability to motivate, align staff efforts to changing priorities and approaches, set goals, delegate responsibilities, and manage staff performance so as to ensure effective service delivery in accordance with organizational goals and program contracts. Must be an effective communicator and possess strong public speaking and writing skills. The ability to work independently, assess priorities, take initiative, be flexible, and thrive under pressure while working on multiple tasks and projects. Must be computer proficient and skilled in managing multiple administrative tasks. Must be available to maintain a full-time work schedule Monday through Friday, with a required on-site presence at the NIA main office and at program sites. Evening and weekend hours will be required for supervision needs, meetings, and special events.
