This role involves mentoring,  working with experienced engineers and designers. The manager is responsible for implementing departmental policies and strategies to achieve short-term goals, solving moderately complex challenges, and influencing broader organizational practices related to electrical utilities and high-voltage systems.</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Hiring</span> – Initiate resource approval, collaborate with the Recruiter for reviewing, interviewing, and hiring staff.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Onboarding</span> – Conduct first-day orientation, discipline-specific onboarding, and set expectations.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Offboarding</span> – Follow procedures for voluntary and involuntary staff transitions.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Training &amp; Resource Assignment</span> – Ensure team members are equipped and assigned appropriately.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Proposal Reviews</span> – Provide technical input and resource planning for proposals.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Performance Monitoring</span> – Audit and assess team performance and deliverables.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Mentorship &amp; One-on-Ones</span> – Support professional development through regular engagement.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Engineering Tools &amp; Standards</span> – Maintain and improve tools, templates, datasheets, and standards specific to electrical utility and high voltage systems.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Budget Management</span> – Manage or transition departmental budget responsibilities.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Client Engagement</span> – Build and maintain client relationships, representing the discipline in meetings and communications.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Project Leadership</span> – Act as Project Manager or Project Engineer for approximately 80% of the role, with a focus on electrical utility and high voltage projects.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">QUALIFICATIONS</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.</li>\n<li>8+ years of experience in electrical utility/high voltage systems, with at least 2 years in a managerial or project leadership role.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">SKILLS</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Technical Skills</span> – Electrical system design, utility coordination, risk management, technical reporting, compliance, financial understanding, and project execution.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Soft Skills</span> – Strong communication, collaboration, emotional intelligence, problem-solving, time management, mentoring, and adaptability.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">KNOWLEDGE</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>In-depth understanding of electrical utility infrastructure, high voltage systems, codes and standards (e.g., CSA, IEEE, NEC), and power distribution design.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">ABILITIES</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communicate technical expectations clearly and effectively.</li>\n<li>Demonstrate strong leadership and management capabilities.</li>\n<li>Foster team development through technical and interpersonal guidance.</li>\n<li>Lead with a balance of strategic vision and operational execution.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">ADDITIONAL INFORMATION</span></p>\n<p>This role is critical to Lauren’s continued success in delivering high-quality electrical utility and high-voltage solutions.
