We provide: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Comprehensive health benefits that start day 1 </li>\n <li>Student Loan Repayment Assistance & Reimbursement Programs </li>\n <li>Family-focused benefits  </li>\n <li>Wellness incentives </li>\n <li>Ongoing mentorship, development<em>,</em> and leadership programs and more </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Description</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or LPN, including but not limited to: cleaning the patient's room, operating various clinical equipment, helping with emergencies, assisting with patient procedures, collecting and transporting patient specimens and completing applicable forms.</li>\n <li>Communicates with patients, families and members of the patient care team.</li>\n <li>Maintains hospital and unit-specific competencies.</li>\n <li>As part of a patient focused service, promotes a supportive and healing environment so that customer and staff satisfaction are enhanced.</li>\n <li>Assists in emergency situations as directed by an RN/LPN.</li>\n <li>Ensures that prescribed measures related to hygiene, comfort, and rest are provided.</li>\n <li>Complies with Standard Precautions guidelines, Infection Control procedures, and safety standards to maintain and promote a clean and healthy work environment.</li>\n <li>Assists in the use of bag-valve-mask device, anti-embolism stockings, pneumatic compression stockings, oxygen, suction equipment, incentive spirometer, emergency cart and bedside glucose monitoring machine.</li>\n <li>Operates converter chair, lifts, scales, beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, non-invasive BP monitors, automatic thermometer, sphygmomanometer, pulse oximeter, and computers.</li>\n <li>Records patient intake and output.</li>\n <li>Assists RN/LPN in providing patient care according to individual needs by assisting with range of motion, ambulation, patient transfers, diet, elimination and hygiene.</li>\n <li>Observes and reports significant or unusual information about the patient and environment to the RN/LPN and documents appropriately and in a timely manner.</li>\n <li>Transports patients and patient specimens throughout the hospital as needed.</li>\n <li>Contributes to the completion of patient admission, transfer, and discharge.</li>\n <li>Assists with postmortem care.</li>\n <li>Utilizes appropriate technology to complete all related processes.</li>\n <li>Participates in unit-based and system-wide Performance Improvement program as required by department leadership.</li>\n <li>Serves as a resource/model through compliance with standards of care and with Department of Nursing and Hospital policies and procedures.</li>\n <li>May participate in research projects impacting patient care areas.</li>\n <li>Participates in the orientation of nursing support assistants to the unit.</li>\n <li>Performs other related responsibilities as required.</li>\n</ul>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\n<ul>\n <li>A high school diploma or equivalent.</li>\n <li>BLS required.</li>\n <li>Must meet one of the following requirements:</li>\n <li>One year of direct patient care experience,</li>\n <li>Successful completion of a nursing assistant training course</li>\n <li>Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license through State of Georgia, OR</li>\n <li>Current enrollment in a nursing program and completion of 2 clinical rotations.</li>\n</ul>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS(Medium-Heavy) 36-75lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 20-35lbs, 34-66% of the workday; (frequently); 10-20lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 75lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 35lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking; Occasional sitting; Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing); Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks.
