Receives direction from both the Production &nbsp; Manager &nbsp;and Research and Development Supervisor to &nbsp;achieved &nbsp;the &nbsp; desire &nbsp;results &nbsp;as &nbsp; outlined &nbsp;by &nbsp;the customer, production, etc. The following are the duties and responsibilities of the Research and Development Assistant:</p><ul><li>Participates as an active member of the Product Development Team</li><li>Mold repair for hull molds, deck molds, liner molds and small part molds</li><li>Mold creation for hull molds, deck molds, liner molds and small part molds</li><li>Support production startup and product launch. Analyze and understand the positioning of the product and translate functional needs into specifications</li><li>Collaborate with various departments or individuals from other disciplines</li><li>Confers with leadership, engineering, production manager and other personnel regarding manufacturing capabilities, schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes</li><li>Ensure activities are preformed safely and meet specific quality standards</li><li>Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency</li><li>Assist in trouble shooting materials related issues for existing or new products.</li><li>As required operate hand and power tools</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by management, supervisors and/or management</li><li>Understand and comply with health, safety and regulatory requirements</li><li>Follow safety and health standards &ndash; use of dust masks gloves, eye protection and other protective equipment as required</li><li>Ability to work 8+ hour day shifts (standing, bending and reaching) and moderate lifting up to 50 lbs.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Required education and experience:</strong> High School Diploma or equivalent, &nbsp;1 - 3 years of experience with gel coating and fiberglass experience. Prefer knowledge with fiberglass and resin, spray painting, composites, marine material knowledge and marine experience. Knowledge of proper use of tools for the job, including sand papers, DAs, polishers, and measuring tools. &nbsp;Experience working with wood, composites, FRP, fiberglass and plastics.</p><p><strong>OTHER JOB DEMANDS:</strong></p><p><u>Working Conditions</u></p><p>Works inside with occasional outside work.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><u>Physical Effort</u></p><p>Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with infrequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs.; stooping, kneeling or crawling with moderate effort; reaching and handling is required often with moderate effort; pushing and pulling of up to 25 lbs.</p><p><u>&nbsp;</u></p><p><u>Physical Environment</u></p><p>Exposure to dirt, dust, hazardous substances and equipment does exist; they occur often. &nbsp;Protective eyewear is required when in production area.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><u>Sensory Attention</u></p><p>Senses of seeing, smelling and touching are required with extreme concentration for long duration.</p></div></div></div></div>\n<br/>First Shift 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM<br/>Occasional overtime and weekends required",
