This isn't just a \"numbers job\", it is an opportunity to be a financial architect for an organization that changes lives every day.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This role will primarily support our 43Housing Program, ensuring strong financial oversight, accurate reporting, and effective use of financial systems to support housing operations and funding requirements.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Why You’ll Love Working Here</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Purpose-Driven Work: The knowledge that your work directly supports housing and social services for the most vulnerable members of our community.</li>\n<li>Total Rewards: We take care of the people who take care of our community.\n<ul>\n<li>Starting Salary: $95,000 per year.</li>\n<li>Work-Life Balance: 4 weeks of annual paid time off to recharge, plus all BC statutory holidays, plus an additional 2 paid days for Easter Monday and Boxing Day.</li>\n<li>Security: Enrollment in the Municipal Pension Plan (MPP).</li>\n<li>Wellness: 100% employer-paid health, dental, life, and long-term disability.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Flexibility: While we value in-person collaboration, we offer occasional work-from-home options to support your work-life balance.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Key Impact Areas</span></p>\n<p>As the lead for our financial operations, you will be the bridge between complex data and strategic action.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Financial Management and Reporting</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and variance reports.</li>\n<li>Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.</li>\n<li>Develop and maintain internal financial controls and accounting policies in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards.</li>\n<li>Provide financial oversight for the Housing program, including rent revenue tracking, subsidy reconciliation, and monthly financial and program specific reports.</li>\n<li>Reconcile Housing systems data and 43Housing Bank Accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy of housing-related financial records.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Audit, Compliance and Risk Management</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate annual financial audits and ensure audit readiness of all financial records.</li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with all funder reporting requirements, regulatory bodies, and internal policies.</li>\n<li>Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies to leadership.</li>\n<li>Ensure housing-related financial data in the system meet audit and compliance standards, including tenant receivables and subsidy reporting.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Grants and Contract Management</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Track revenue and expenditures related to grants and contracts.</span></li>\n<li>Support program staff with budget development for proposals and reporting on restricted funds.</li>\n<li>Ensure proper allocation of funding and adherence to restrictions and timelines.</li>\n<li>Support the Housing program in managing operating agreements, subsidies, and rent-geared-to-income (RGI) calculations from a financial perspective.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Team Leadership and Supervision</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervise, mentor, and support bookkeepers.</li>\n<li>Promote a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and strong customer service within the finance team.</li>\n<li>Lead the development and implementation of efficient financial systems and practices.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Cross-Functional Collaboration</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Serve as a finance liaison to other departments and support program managers in financial literacy and planning.</li>\n<li>Participate in cross-departmental projects and organizational initiatives requiring financial oversight.</li>\n<li>Act as the primary finance partner to the Housing team, translating financial data into actionable insights for program operations and decision-making.</li>\n<li>Work in collaboration with the Director of Housing to manage capital planning, funding allocations, and maintenance budgets.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">What You Bring</span></p>\n<p>You are a meticulous professional with a \"big picture\" mindset.
