Description Collins is an ENR Top 500 Design Firm. We have opportunities for you. Collins is seeking a motivated and experienced Structural Design Project Engineer to contribute to our team in Norwood, Massachusetts . The ideal candidate will have experience in drafting, including plan set development and structural detailing for transportation infrastructure projects in addition to having experience with, and a desire to expand their knowledge in, structural design and load rating of bridges and other related transportation infrastructure. This position provides the opportunity to lead assigned tasks and projects, consult with clients and government agencies, and work on various structural design and load rating projects for MassDOT, MBTA, NHDOT, and RIDOT. Additionally, there are opportunities to coach and mentor junior staff and grow your leadership abilities. Typical Duties and Responsibilities: Provide technical engineering information to project manager to ensure the project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions. Review, analyze, and provide recommendations on-field and/or design issues. Independently performs moderately difficult engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices. Prepare complete engineering plans or reports. Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents. Keep project manager informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional services. Responsible for small to moderately difficult projects from inception to completion. Has limited communication with clients. Is available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours. Direct and supervise the work of entry-level engineers, technicians, drafters, and administrative staff. Qualifications Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in civil engineering (with a focus on structural engineering a plus) from an accredited four-year university. Minimum 2-5 years’ experience or the equivalent thereof. Experience with drafting, including plan set development and structural detailing for transportation infrastructure projects required. Experience in the design and analysis of transportation structures preferred. Experience with MassDOT, RIDOT, NHDOT, Massport, and MBTA standards and procedures preferred. Experience with AASHTOWare BrR and BrD, CSi Bridge, STAAD, OpenBridge, LEAP, PGSuper, and other related design and analysis software preferred. Experience with AASHTO bridge design standards is required and/or experience with AREMA Standard Specifications preferred. Experience with drafting using Autodesk, AutoCAD, or Civil3D required. Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification. Valid driver’s license.     "qualifications": "<p><span style=\"font-size:12px\"><strong>Education and/or Experience:</strong></span></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-size:12px\">Bachelor&#39;s degree and/or master&rsquo;s degree in civil engineering (with a focus on structural engineering a plus) from an accredited four-year university.&nbsp;</span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-size:12px\">Minimum 2-5 years&rsquo; experience or the equivalent thereof.&nbsp;</span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-size:12px\">Experience with drafting, including plan set development and structural detailing for transportation infrastructure projects required.&nbsp;</span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-size:12px\">Experience in the design and analysis of transportation structures preferred.&nbsp;</span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-size:12px\">Experience with MassDOT, RIDOT, NHDOT, Massport, and MBTA standards and procedures preferred.&nbsp;</span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-size:12px\">Experience with AASHTOWare BrR and BrD, CSi Bridge, STAAD, OpenBridge, LEAP, PGSuper, and other related design and analysis software preferred.&nbsp;</span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-size:12px\">Experience with AASHTO bridge design standards is required and/or experience with AREMA Standard Specifications preferred.&nbsp;</span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-size:12px\">Experience with drafting using Autodesk, AutoCAD, or Civil3D required.&nbsp;</span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-size:12px\">Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification.&nbsp;</span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-size:12px\">Valid driver&rsquo;s license. &nbsp;</span></li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size:12px\"><strong>Physical Demands:</strong></span></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-size:12px\">The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
