    "description": "<p>POSITION PURPOSE:</p>\n<p><br>Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Designated Medical Provider functions as the Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (P-SANE) or Designated Medical Provider to provide trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate medical-forensic care to pediatric patients who are victims or suspected victims of sexual assault or abuse.<br>This on-call, casual position plays a critical role within the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) multidisciplinary team (MDT), working collaboratively with the Patient Advocate and Forensic Interviewer to ensure compassionate, coordinated, and legally sound care that prioritizes the child’s physical and emotional well-being</p>\n<p><br>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p>\n<p><br>Medical-Forensic Care<br>• Perform pediatric sexual assault medical-forensic examinations (P-SANE exams) in accordance with national best practices, CAC standards, and state/federal guidelines.<br>• Provide trauma-informed, child-centered medical care tailored to the patient’s developmental level and clinical needs.<br>• Obtain relevant medical history and conduct thorough, age-appropriate physical examinations.<br>• Collect, preserve, and document forensic evidence when indicated, maintaining strict chain of custody.<br>• Provide prophylaxis, treatment, referrals, and follow-up care as clinically appropriate.<br>Documentation &amp; Legal Integrity<br>• Complete accurate, objective, and legally defensible medical documentation.<br>• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, mandatory reporting laws, and organizational policies.<br>• Prepare medical reports suitable for legal proceedings.<br>• Provide expert testimony in court when subpoenaed.<br>Multidisciplinary Collaboration<br>• Work collaboratively with the Forensic Interviewer, Patient Advocate, and MDT partners, including law enforcement, Child Protective Services, prosecution, and behavioral health providers.<br>• Participate in MDT staffing, case reviews, and coordinated care planning.<br>• Communicate clearly and compassionately with caregivers while maintaining professional boundaries.<br>Availability &amp; On-Call Responsibilities<br>• Maintain availability for on-call response, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.<br>• Respond in a timely manner to requests for pediatric forensic medical evaluations.<br>Designated Medical Provider v1.2026 2 of 3<br>• Travel using personal or company vehicle.<br>Quality &amp; Professional Practice<br>• Adhere to CAC accreditation standards and Aviva Health policies.<br>• Participate in ongoing training, peer review, and quality improvement activities.<br>• Maintain required certifications, competencies, and licensure.</p>\n<p><br>QUALIFICATIONS:<br>• Active, unrestricted Oregon license as one of the following:<br>o Registered Nurse (RN)<br>o Nurse Practitioner (NP)<br>o Physician Assistant (PA)<br>o Physician (MD or DO)<br>• Completion of Pediatric SANE (P-SANE) training or equivalent pediatric forensic medical training.<br>• Current Oregon driver’s license.<br>• BLS certification.<br>• Demonstrated competency in pediatric sexual abuse medical-forensic examinations, trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate care, forensic evidence collection and documentation.<br>• Professional experience in a Child Advocacy Center.<br>• Minimum 3 years' experience as DMP.<br>• Knowledge of child abuse dynamics, mandatory reporting laws, MDT and CAC models of care.<br>• Ability to work independently in high-stress, emotionally complex situation.<br>• Commitment to a team approach to health care delivery.<br>• Commitment to patient education and health promotion.<br>• Works with and provides consultation to practitioners.<br>• Ability to obtain credentialing by UHA, Medicare, &amp; Other Commercial Insurers.<br>• Fluent in English. Spanish language skills desirable.<br>• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.<br>• Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.<br>• Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to leadership and public groups.</p>",
