The right candidate would be joining a tight-knit team of traffic engineers and transportation planners who value technical excellence, career development, pride in our work, a collaborative team environment, and a passion for finding the right solutions that enhance mobility and safety.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>2024 ACEC, Engineering Excellence Awards, National Recognition</li>\n <li>2024 Institute of Transportation Engineers, National Achievement Award</li>\n <li>2025 LIBN, Real Estate Architecture & Engineering Awards for Top Firm, Rising Star, Top Engineer, Top Private & Smart Growth Projects</li>\n <li>2024 ACEC Inaugural (DEI) Commitment Award</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manage traffic engineering, transportation planning, and/or safety projects and contracts</li>\n <li>Attend and lead meetings with agencies, clients, consultant partners, and stakeholders </li>\n <li>Develop new project opportunities, manage client relationships, and prepare and manage proposal submissions</li>\n <li>Complete traffic safety and operational improvement studies for localized intersections and corridors</li>\n <li>Lead development of traffic impact analyses (TIAs) and/or TIA reviews on behalf of municipalities</li>\n <li>Provide analyses of traffic safety issues and crash reduction measures</li>\n <li>Conduct field investigations to determine crash contributing factors and identification of appropriate countermeasures</li>\n <li>Oversee quality and contribute to complex technical decisions on a range of multimodal transportation engineering assignments </li>\n <li>Address community traffic engineering and safety issues</li>\n <li>Manage projects involving the design of traffic control devices (signs, markings, signals) </li>\n <li>Develop mobility solutions which consider all users, including motorists, bicyclists, public transit users and pedestrians of all ages and abilities</li>\n <li>Familiarity with Long Island, NY region municipalities and agencies traffic operations and safety policies and practices</li>\n <li><p>Work collaboratively with team, as well as provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to staff</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and Abilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills</li>\n <li>Self-motivated with strong attention to detail</li>\n <li>Strong writing skills for proposals, technical reports and memoranda</li>\n <li>Ability to present at public meetings as part of project outreach </li>\n <li>The ability to manage multiple projects and work independently</li>\n <li>An understanding of effectively overseeing multi-disciplinary projects and teams</li>\n <li>Experience managing projects and marketing transportation services</li>\n <li>Motivated to lead and mentor junior team members</li>\n</ul>\n<p> <strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study required</li>\n <li>Master’s degree a plus and may substitute for 1 year of experience</li>\n <li>8-11 years of professional experience in traffic/transportation engineering required</li>\n <li>Experience with Long Island, NY region transportation projects preferred</li>\n <li>Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure required</li>\n <li>Understanding of Vissim and Synchro preferred</li>\n <li>Experience with SEQRA preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Hauppauge, NY is $120,000-170,000.
