First Nations Capital and Infrastructure Agency of Saskatchewan is a non-profit organization that exists exclusively to support Saskatchewan First Nation communities to plan, procure, own, and manage their infrastructure assets on their lands. Position Description
Title: Human Resources Coordinator
Reports To: Senior Human Resources Manager
Location: Saskatoon, SK
Position Type: Permanent Full-time
Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting various HR functions and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the HR department. This role involves assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, and various HR administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be well-versed in HR best practices, and be committed to maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Position Description
Recruitment Support:
Assist with job postings on various platforms and websites.
Screen resumes and applications and schedule interviews.
Coordinate and communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process.
Conduct reference checks, and background screenings as needed.
Coordinate, attend, represent, and promote FNCIAS at career fairs and community events.
Onboarding and Orientation:
Assist with onboarding of new hires (office/desk set up, computer set up, new hire orientation materials, etc)
Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new employees.
Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
Benefits Coordination:
Support employees in benefit enrollment and inquiries.
Assist in the coordination of benefits administration
General Human Resources Support:
Respond to general HR inquiries and maintain accurate, confidential employee records and files.
Help with the preparation of HR reports and data analysis.
Ensure priorities and deadlines are met, and that correspondence is handled accurately, professionally, and confidentially.
Address employee inquiries and issues with confidentiality and professionalism.
Assist in HR Policy and procedure updates and implementation.
Support in the administration of HR programs and initiatives.
Assist with special projects as needed.
Provides vacation cover-off for administrative roles.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent. Minimum three (3) years of experience in a Human Resources support or coordination role. An equivalent level of experience and education may be considered.
Desirable Experience and Qualities
Strong written communication, and interpersonal skills.
Requires keen attention to detail, sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive matters.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRIS systems, industry-standard technologies and cloud services and virtual meeting platforms.
Proficient with Human Resources Information systems (HRIS), including BambooHR or similar platforms.
Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of integrity and personal accountability.
A deep respect and understanding of First Nation culture, traditions, and values, and the ability to integrate these into daily activities.
Commitment to advancing FNCIAS’s vision and fostering a culturally respectful workplace.
