    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<div>\n <ul>\n  <li>Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, as required to meet the needs of the Company’s business operations.</li>\n  <li>Delegate daily work assignments and review priorities and special projects.</li>\n  <li>Schedule and perform work in accordance with preventive maintenance program in rooms, coordinating with the Rooms Division Department.</li>\n  <li>Ensures final inspection of all engineering&#x1e;related work and execution of all work orders.</li>\n  <li>Performs engineering staff functions whenever necessary.</li>\n  <li>Ensures all safety equipment is in compliance and working order with federal quarterly/annual inspections to city, state and codes.&nbsp; Maintain knowledge of hotel safety procedures and ensure application of such.</li>\n  <li>Handle chemicals for designated uses/surfaces, according to hotel requirements.</li>\n  <li>Perform emergency equipment and machinery repair as needed.</li>\n  <li>Maintain the proper use, cleaning, maintenance, and storage of all tools.</li>\n  <li>Exercise safety precautions when working on equipment (use of safety signs, etc.).</li>\n  <li>Maintains the engineering department’s annual budget.</li>\n  <li>Carries out supervisory responsibilities that includes interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.</li>\n </ul>\n</div>\n<div>\n <b>Responsibilities</b>\n</div>\n<div>\n Responsible for all aspects of the Engineering department to include the proper operation, maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of all heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and mechanical equipment. Develop, coordinate, and monitor a maintenance program to ensure the safety, security and comfort of all staff and guests. Assigned responsibility of Safety Committee Chairperson. Supervise, train and manage all Engineering staff.&nbsp;\n</div>\n<div>\n <b>Qualifications</b>\n</div>\n<div>\n <ul>\n  <li>High school graduate or equivalent; college degree or vocational training a plus.</li>\n  <li>Any building trade license/certificate from the state of hotel’s operation preferred.</li>\n  <li>Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.&nbsp;</li>\n  <li>Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.</li>\n  <li>Minimum two years’ experience as a hotel maintenance engineer.&nbsp; Supervisory experience preferred.</li>\n  <li>Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.</li>\n  <li>Knowledge of all mechanical equipment critical to the operation of the building.</li>\n  <li>Working knowledge of repair and maintenance regarding health codes; plumbing codes; plant equipment; electrical codes; architectural codes; structural codes; blueprints and wiring/plumbing schematics; building code improvement; mechanical and electrical/safety systems construction; national/local fire codes; proper chemical handling and disposal; power and hand tools, meters, etc. as it relates to the technical trades; local mechanical codes; OSHA codes and best practices.</li>\n  <li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.&nbsp;</li>\n  <li>Ability to interpret manufacturer’s literature for installation, preparation, use and upkeep of various materials and products used throughout the property.</li>\n  <li>Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.</li>\n  <li>Ability to endure abundant physical movements in carrying out job duties.</li>\n  <li>Ability to enforce hotel's standards, policies and procedures with staff.</li>\n  <li>Ability to troubleshoot and use alternatives in emergency situations.</li>\n  <li>Ability to handle potentially hazardous chemicals.</li>\n  <li>Ability to maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information.</li>\n </ul>\n</div>",
