No line of financial services is beyond our charter.</em></p><p><strong>CorTrust Bank is seeking a Community Development Mortgage Loan Originator to serve the Brooklyn Park community!</strong></p><p>As a <strong>Community Development&nbsp;</strong><strong>Mortgage Loan Originator,</strong> incumbents will work closely with local housing authorities and financial literacy programs to ensure applicants are fully educated on loan and assistance programs in their area to help them achieve homeownership. They will advocate in the community and build relationships with clients. They will solicit and pre-qualify loan applications, prepare credit application packages, and present requests to underwriting for approval. They will review loan documents and prepare them for closing.&nbsp;</p><p>This unique opportunity allows for a regular, generous base salary in lieu of a typical commission structure. Additionally, we&#39;re proud to offer a compensation package that includes a 401k, Employee Stock Ownership Plan, insurance, paid time off, service awards, community service opportunities, and most importantly a stable and secure work environment.</p><p><strong>Daily duties for this position:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Advocates in the community to deepen relationships and market the institution&rsquo;s loan products.</li><li>Reviews borrower requests for pre-qualification and issues pre-qualification letters to customers.</li><li>Reviews loan applications and effectively communicates with potential borrowers to explain lending parameters and identify which loan programs and terms best fit each customer and situation.</li><li>Partners with local housing authorities and financial literacy programs to help prospective applicants navigate housing programs, locate downpayment and closing cost assistance, available grants, and more.</li><li>Works with borrowers to secure necessary information for loan underwriting and conducts site visits as needed.</li><li>Prepares and reviews loan application packages according to underwriting policies and presents financial analysis to underwriting for approval.</li><li>Reviews loan documents, title, appraisal, and survey prior to&nbsp;closing to ensure accuracy.</li><li>Collaborates with borrowers, title company, and realtor to confirm conditions of funding are met prior to closing and coordinate timing of loan funding.</li><li>Identifies additional unfilled banking or insurance needs and refers borrowers to Bank partners.</li><li>Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned or changed at any time.</li></ul><p><strong>Required skills &amp; abilities:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Mortgage banking background preferred, but additional training will be provided for the right candidate.</li><li>Experience and connections with local housing programs and agencies is preferred.</li><li>Ability to perform primary responsibilities of position with minimal oversight.</li><li>Adapts easily to system, process, product, and service changes.</li><li>Ability to reason, problem solve, and think critically.</li><li>Demonstrates a high level of integrity, personal diplomacy, and respect.</li><li>Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to the mortgage banking industry.</li><li>Ability to understand and abide by all CorTrust policies, procedures, and applicable federal regulations.</li></ul><p><em>We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.</em></p><p>&nbsp;</p></div></div>\n",
