The successful candidate is self- motivated , well-organized , and comfortable managing different tasks, concepts , and challenges. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of Hawai‘ i’s clean energy transition and to gain hands-on experience in the green economy sector . The primarily remote position will require the candidate to be based on O‘ah u , Hawai‘ i, and may require in-person site visits . PRINCIPAL ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES: Gain s exposure to “green” career opportunities within the renewable energy sector and the corporate environment in Hawai‘ i and beyond Support s various teams , including the Hawaiʻi Market, project development, permitting, and community relations Participate in additional skill-building opportunities A ttends on-site project tours Participate s in internal and/or external stakeholder outreach Willingness/ability to travel to job sites and assist with hands-on work as needed Performs other duties as assigned SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: Currently enrolled in or graduated within the last six months from a college/university program related to business, engineering, environmental studies, planning , or a related field (preference will be given to local Hawai‘ i residents) Experience or demonstrated interest in the renewable energy industry Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft applications Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Detail-oriented and m ust be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities Must enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced , and changing environment Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is a part -time (30hrs/week ) summer internship position that is primarily remote but requires occasional in-person meet ings and event attendance on Oʻahu Intern must be on Oʻahu for the ent ire duration of the internship The working language is English Relocation is not available for this position AES is an Equal Opportunity Employer who is committed to building strength and delivering long-term sustainability through diversity and inclusion.
