Job Summary Designs, develops, implements and oversees the organization's environmental, health and safety programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities and to ensure that all facilities are in compliance with regulations | Responsibilities are within the Environmental Health and Safety Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines

Essential Functions
Assists with implementing and maintaining company policies that adhere to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly.
Assists with performing experiments and reports findings on environmental consequences of equipment, tools, and procedures.
May also design, install, operate and maintain measuring apparatus to determine the level of pollutants involving air, land, and water.
Supports in identifying, assessing and resolving problems concerning the environment.
Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy and procedure manuals.
Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
Required Qualifications
Required education and experience: Attending a Vocational / Technical School or internal training program OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience or Skillset; No prior experience needed
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree
Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
Knowledge, skills & abilities: Environmental compliance. Safety best practices. Safety communications. Safety inspections. Safety training. Safety policies and procedures. Inspection documentation.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
Travel Requirements No or very little travel likely.
