    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>POSITION SUMMARY:</strong><strong><br></strong>Remington &amp; Vernick Engineers is looking for a NICET IV/Resident Engineer Certified Professional with expertise of managing heavy highway / bridge construction projects, and a construction inspection team. This professional will be responsible for the project record keeping, correspondence, compiling, reviewing, and delivery of required daily inspection reports. The ideal candidate will chair various project meetings, record and prepare and distribute accurate meeting minutes. This individual will need to be well experienced in bridges, highways and have an extensive background in construction especially with clients such as NJDOT, the NJTA, DRPA, and DRJTBC.<br>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>PRIMARY DUTIES:</strong></p><ul><li>Act in the capacity of Resident Engineer, providing extensive inspection and management of construction project and serve as the Client&rsquo;s liaison with the Contractor. The RE shall be capable of managing a 3+ CM/CI staff, possess strong communication, computer, and writing skills and be experienced with CPM Scheduling</li><li>Work collaboratively with other engineers, professionals, and infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, and local improvement projects.</li><li>Conduct construction supervision and field inspection of the work in progress to determine if the work is proceeding in accordance with the Contract Documents, both alone and/or as part of a team.</li><li>Work with client to inform public about upcoming work and potential impacts. Work with the contractor to minimize disruptions to the public.</li><li>Provide and maintain all records related to the project in question including daily quantities.</li><li>Manage all project submittals and requests for information, ensuring the proper Engineer performs the necessary review and/or guidance.</li><li>Keep a logbook of all observations and daily activities for ongoing work and provide the client with daily reports to include all labor trades, equipment supplied by Contractor, and measured pay quantities.</li><li>Review applications for payment with Contractor and make recommendations for progress payments to the Client.</li><li>Prepare a final punch list at substantial completion and perform final project review for project closeout.</li><li>Perform additional responsibilities as required by project and business needs.</li></ul><p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:</strong></p><ul><li>Good communication skills, with the ability to work with others and the public.</li><li>Self-motivated, organized, and focused, with good attention to detail.</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:</strong></p><ul><li>High School diploma or equivalent</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in civil engineering or construction management</li><li>Minimum of 8 years of experience with 3+ years of experience on projects $10M or greater</li><li>Experienced on bridge, and highway construction projects&nbsp;</li><li>Must be familiar with NJDOT specifications and documentation practices.</li><li>Possess a combination of NJDOT, NJTA, DPRA, and DRJTBC experience</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED</strong></p><ul><li>Valid Driver&rsquo;s License&nbsp;</li><li>Licensed professional engineer or NICET 4 Highway Construction Inspection required</li><li>ACI-Concrete Field Testing Technician</li><li>NJSAT Asphalt Paving Construction Technologist</li><li>Rutgers TCC certification</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY</strong></p><p>This position has supervisory responsibility. &nbsp;The RE shall be capable of managing a 3+ CM/CI staff</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:</strong></p><p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee works primarily in the field and may be exposed to outside weather conditions.
