Provide a quality experience to children while focusing on the YMCA core values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring. All YMCA Child Care positions follow the required qualifications requirements as outlined by the Manual of Requirements for Child Care Centers – State of New Jersey, Department of Human Services, Division of Youth and Family Services.  Must be able to successfully complete background check, fingerprinting and obtain all required certification courses and trainings required and provided by the Meadowlands Area YMCA.</p>\n\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: </strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Assist in the planning and implementation of daily programs under the direction of the Site Leader</li>\n\t<li>Assist in providing a safe and supportive environment for all children</li>\n\t<li>Assist in keeping accurate documentation of attendance, children’s files, emergency drills, accident/illness/behavior reports, administration of medication and lesson plans.</li>\n\t<li>Assist in practicing emergency procedures</li>\n\t<li>Assist in all general housekeeping tasks. To be responsible for the management and supervision of children at all times, including activity areas.</li>\n\t<li>Assist in the planning and implementation of activities appropriate to children’s needs and interests.</li>\n\t<li>Assist in the preservation of all program supplies and equipment.</li>\n\t<li>Attend all In-Service Workshops and office meetings.</li>\n\t<li>Keep certifications current in CPR, First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens while receiving necessary and required training in Child Abuse Prevention and other required courses.</li>\n\t<li>To be able to constantly stand, walk, bend, run, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch, pushing or pulling, some climbing and balancing as well as lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.</li>\n\t<li>To attend to each child’s interest and programs’ needs and support children’s emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts.</li>\n\t<li>To have an active and open line of communication with parents informing them of all facility closing, activities, information on their child and other important issues.</li>\n\t<li>Be knowledgeable and follow the Policies and Procedures outlined in the Staff Handbook and Parent Handbook.</li>\n\t<li>Wear the approved YMCA work attire and name tags. Notify the Site Director if in need of a name tag.
