The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for clients in the community both independently and collaboratively with a physician, depending upon the complexity of client needs. &nbsp;This includes: health promotion and protection; first line treatment and emergency services; provision of supportive counselling and instruction in management of medical conditions; disease and injury prevention; initiating and conducting community needs assessments and participating in evaluative projects; and collaboration with and referral to other health care professionals. &nbsp;This is a community-based position therefore the incumbent is required to work at a high level of independent clinical practice.&nbsp;<br><br><strong>Human Resources Exemption: </strong>No<br><br><strong>Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>One year experience in community needs assessment/development/health promotion</li>\n <li>3 years experience as an RN in primary care, public health or acute care</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Education</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Graduate from an approved School of Nursing</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Licenses</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Registered Nurse (RN)</li>\n <li>Valid Class 5 driver's license</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Other Education and Training</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Registered/eligible for registration with CRNS as a Nurse Practitioner (NP)</li>\n <li>Ability to maintain current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with CRNS</li>\n <li>Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge and Abilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge in the principles of Population Health Promotion</li>\n <li>Ability to provide holistic care to individuals, families &amp; the community</li>\n <li>Demonstrates knowledge of community services, programs, and resources</li>\n <li>Knowledge in individual assessment and counselling skills</li>\n <li>Demonstrates ability to assess the community for primary care needs.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates ability to show initiative and self-direction</li>\n <li>Demonstrates ability in verbal and non-verbal communication techniques</li>\n <li>Demonstrates ability to accept and implement change</li>\n <li>Knowledge in population and public health concepts</li>\n <li>Demonstrates capacity to plan, implement and evaluate multiple assessments</li>\n <li>Demonstrated knowledge of teaching abilities &amp; group facilitation skills</li>\n <li>Ability to apply methods and principles of nursing process</li>\n <li>Demonstrates empathy, trust and respect in the provision of care</li>\n <li>Demonstrate responsible decision-making supported by strong critical thinking</li>\n <li>Demonstrates leadership, confidence and autonomy in the RN (NP) role</li>\n <li>Knowledge of common medical conditions and treatments.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates capacity to work closely with multiple physicians</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Other Information</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Community based position provides services in clinic/home settings in PHC Regina</li>\n <li>Must possess a valid driver's license and have a vehicle available for work.</li>\n <li>May be eligible for Recruitment and/or Retention Incentives</li>\n <li>Travel allowance is provided.</li>\n <li>Travel required to various community sites within Regina PHC Networks</li>\n <li>Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)</li>\n <li>For more information on the city of Regina please visit https://www.regina.ca/</li>\n <li>Please Provide a cover letter and resume</li>\n</ul>",
