Department Overview This position is a 12-month, part-time Faculty position in the Division of Physician Assistant Education. This position reports to (supervisor): Division Head and Program Director, Physician Assistant Education Function/Duties of Position In support of the PA Program curriculum, the faculty member will: Participate as a lecturer/small group facilitator teaching in areas of expertise and program need as assigned by the Program Director. Specifically, this position is focused on Clinical Medicine Tutorials and Physical Diagnosis Lab teaching year-round. Faculty must be available on Monday afternoons. Participate in the grading of student assignments and the evaluation of student academic and professional development. As a member of the faculty of the PA Program: Provide student instruction in the academic and clinical phases of the program. Evaluate student performance and assure the availability of remedial instruction. Evaluate the program by participating in the program’s ongoing self-assessment, analysis, and accreditation processes. Provide informal academic advising support to students throughout the educational program. Participate in the selection of applicants for admission to the PA program as appropriate to FTE. Participate on program committees as assigned by the Program Director, such as the Progress and Promotion Committee, Admissions Selection Committee, Curriculum Committee, and other ad-hoc committees as necessary and as aligned with the days dedicated to the PA program. Perform other duties as determined by the Program Director from time to time. Of note, Faculty must not participate as a health care provider for students in the program, except in an emergency situation. Required Qualifications PA from an accredited academic institution. 2 years of clinical experience Strong organizational skills If a PA, current NCCPA certification.
