    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PARENT-CHILD CLASS TEACHER</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Overview</span></p>\n<p>The Housatonic Valley Waldorf School is seeking a Parent-Child Class Teacher to develop and present Parent-Child curriculum, which includes<span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"> providing a morning rhythm based on Waldorf traditions for parents with their children ages birth to 3 years old.  The Parent-Child Class Teacher works to support the community and the mission of the school.</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of and a deep commitment to Waldorf principles;</li>\n<li>Love of working with children and their parents;</li>\n<li>Prior experience with young children and the ability to teach an Early Childhood group;</li>\n<li>Enthusiasm, energy, and good interpersonal/communication skills;</li>\n<li>The willingness to cultivate effective parent teacher communication and parent education;</li>\n<li>The ability to participate in our active community life.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Preferred Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Waldorf birth to three teacher training from accredited school</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities Include:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create a simple, wholesome play space where parent and child can feel free to play.<br></li>\n<li>Bring a simple age-appropriate circle with finger plays, movement, songs, and short, simple hand puppet plays </li>\n<li>Prepare handwork activities for the parents.</li>\n<li>Bring seasonal songs to sing softly during playtime to help support a gentle atmosphere.</li>\n<li>Help parents to feel supported, welcome and comfortable. Be aware of all parents and children in the room and see where you are most needed.<br></li>\n<li>Hand out parenting and/or Waldorf Education articles for parents each week that can be discussed the following week.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Time Commitment</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Lead eight-week sessions four to five days a week in the Fall, Winter and Spring. Each class runs from 9-11am.</span></p>\n<p>                                                                                                                 </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Supervision &amp; Evaluation</span></p>\n<p>Conducted as outlined in Staff Development Committee guidelines.  This position will report to the Director of Enrollment.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Hiring</span></p>\n<p>Hiring is completed through the Teacher Search Committee and approved by the College of Teachers, as outlined in the Teacher Search Guidelines for hiring.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Housatonic Valley Waldorf School is an equal opportunity employer.
