Federal agencies, government contractors, commercial customers, and academic and professional organizations rely on NV5 for a wide range of needs, and we lend our expertise however and wherever it is needed.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Statistician</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Role Overview:</strong> We are seeking a highly organized <strong>Statistician</strong> to join our technical consulting team. While we operate in the field of radiation protection, this is primarily a <strong>computational and statistical role</strong>. You will be responsible for interpreting complex historical datasets, developing robust models, and communicating findings to high-level stakeholders. The ideal candidate thrives when presented with novel data and possesses the discipline to manage client expectations with clarity and professionalism.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Note:</strong> This role is remote and requires U.S. citizenship.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Novel Data Modeling:</strong> Assess, clean, and analyze historical datasets to identify trends, biases, and exposure patterns.</li>\n <li><strong>Statistical Support:</strong> Able to analyze <strong>left-censored data</strong>.</li>\n <li><strong>Strategic Client Communication:</strong> You must be able to translate statistical methods into actionable, organized reports and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.</li>\n <li><strong>Methodology Development:</strong> Design and implement data mining strategies to extract meaningful information from fragmented or inconsistent historical records.</li>\n <li><strong>Interdisciplinary Collaboration:</strong> Provide statistical support to a team of Health Physicists, ensuring that dose reconstruction models are statistically sound and defensible.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Master’s in Statistics or Biostatistics, with a strong foundation in data analysis and mathematical statistics. (A Bachelor’s degree may be considered with exceptional professional experience).</li>\n <li>Minimum of 3–5 years in a dedicated statistical or data science role, preferably within a consulting or regulated environment.</li>\n <li><strong>Programming Proficiency:</strong> Advanced programming skills in <strong>R</strong> (required) or Python.</li>\n <li><strong>Critical Adaptability:</strong> Proven ability to apply statistical theory to \"real-world\" data that may not fit standard textbook models.</li>\n <li><strong>Consulting Soft Skills:</strong> Demonstrated ability to remain organized, proactive, and articulate when balancing client requests and project timelines.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Domain Knowledge:</strong> Familiarity with Health Physics, environmental monitoring, or radiobiology is a plus, but not required for a candidate with strong statistical fundamentals.</li>\n <li><strong>Agency Experience:</strong> Prior experience working with U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) records systems or similar federal regulatory frameworks (AEC, ERDA).</li>\n <li><strong>Dose Reconstruction:</strong> Understanding of internal and external radiation exposure monitoring techniques.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Security Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>The ability to obtain a D.O.E. credential (U.S. Citizenship required).</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Applicants must be able to pass a government security investigation and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The pay range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 per year. Base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>All local employment laws apply.
