    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Job Description&mdash;Construction &amp; Facility Management Faculty</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Institutional Overview</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Capitol Technology University is a career-focused university located in Laurel, Maryland, between Baltimore and Washington, D.C. It is a fully-accredited non-profit private university that was started in 1927 by a Navy veteran to teach students how to build radios. The University offers unique commitments to on-campus students that include a salary guarantee and a Chargers Assistance Program that helps students pay back their loans if they do not find full-time work within 90 days of graduation.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The successful candidate will be passionate about working directly with undergraduate students to prepare them for the demands of the construction &amp; facility management workforce. The individual will be a dynamic, visionary educator with innovative ideas for interdisciplinary approaches to education, experience teaching in multiple modalities, and the ability to motivate student excellence. Faculty dedicate 80% of their time to teaching and 20% of their time to service. Teaching includes course preparation, instruction, learning assessment, and participation in course and curriculum review. Service includes co-curricular activities that enhance and enrich the student experience and/or contribute to new student recruitment, including providing oversight of laboratories and participating in open houses and other outreach activities (Cyber Saturdays, STEM Challenge, Capitol Connect, etc.). This is a full-time on-ground 10-month position (August-May) on our beautiful 52-acre campus in Laurel, MD, on the Baltimore Washington parkway.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Capitol strongly encourages industry professionals with an appropriate Master&rsquo;s or Doctorate degree and teaching experience to apply for this position.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Work effectively with all stakeholders to grow enrollment for the program in alignment with the University&rsquo;s mission and vision</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Instruct students in the construction &amp; facility management discipline. Including: designing and executing learning activities that stimulate student involvement and encourage critical thinking, performing accurate assessment of student performance, providing timely constructive feedback to support student knowledge advancement</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Maintain high campus visibility including but not limited to; regular office hours, timely responses to student communications, support for co-curricular activities, enrollment events (Open Houses, STEM Challenge, Accepted Student Day, Capitol Connect, community college and high school visits, etc.), committee service, and academic and career mentoring.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Manage classrooms in person, via Zoom, and within the LMS including preparing syllabi, assignments, grading, and assessment activities, etc.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Maintain professional competencies in the subject area and currency in instructional methodologies through professional associations and professional development.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Build partnerships with community colleges, construction, facility, and safety associations and companies, and other organizations</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Manage adjunct faculty members within the program and ensure high quality of the classroom experience</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Support educational effectiveness activities of the department such as course learning assessment and program level assessment review.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Support accreditation activities of the department.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Support the recruitment of new undergraduate students including: participating in Open House activities, assisting in the development of relationships and articulation agreements with community college partners, developing and maintaining a professional image on social media, developing relationships with appropriate professional organizations, and participating in special events (on campus or virtual).</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Communicate effectively with all constituents including students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Collaborate with government and industry partners to provide opportunities for our students</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Demonstrate successful leadership in education and professional service</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Perform other duties as required</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Master&rsquo;s or PhD from an accredited institution of higher learning in Construction/Facility Management, or a related discipline</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">7+ years of combined experience in administrative and/or teaching experience as well as professional experience in a related field</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Industry experience is a plus and those working full-time in industry are strongly encouraged to apply</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Salary Range</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The salary for this position typically ranges from $80,000 to $95,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.</p><p style=\"margin-left:.5in;\"><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p></div>\n",
