Responsibility will also include product design, bill of material, standard work development, support of new and existing technologies, accuracy, and on-time delivery by the engineering team. It will also include leading, coaching and guiding the engineering team and support Lean Manufacturing Processes in our Chanute, KS location.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Principle Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Collaborate with the leadership team to set quality benchmarks</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Execute tests to check final product adherence to the company and customers standards</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Develop and achieve Daily KPI&rsquo;s for the Engineering Team.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Investigate and implement new technology throughout the production environment.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Interface with manufacturing to provide support around improvements to achieve plant wide goals.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Analyze and lead scrap and labor improvement projects.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Lead and train Lean Methodology through standard work events and Kaizens.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Provide new product development leadership for engineering functional team.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ensure engineering makes timely releases for all bill of materials and engineering drawings.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Perform regular audits of products to ensure correct bill of materials and minimize usage variance.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Guide the engineering team through the adaptation of new engineering tools and design systems.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Contribute as a hands-on engineer as well as leader for the engineering team.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Management of site capital budget and project selection.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Responsible for supporting on-time delivery and accurate costing of products.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Work with Operations and Maintenance departments to identify and implement opportunities to improve OEE on production equipment.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Champion plant safety policies and lead the Joint Health and Safety committee.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ensure environmental compliance through policies and required reporting.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Perform other duties as required in support of Plant Manager&#39;s goals and objectives.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>&nbsp;Experience and Education&nbsp;</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">B.S. Degree preferred with Mechanical Engineer or other Engineering Disciplines.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">2- 5 years of SolidWorks 3D Modeling experience (or equivalent 3D modeling software)</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Experience with environmental and safety compliance requirements</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Working knowledge of processing operations, ergonomics, and lean manufacturing</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&nbsp;<strong>Technical Skills&nbsp;</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Complex problem solving, Technology Design, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Product Development, Presenting Technical Information.&nbsp;</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">HBD Industries is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
