This role will focus on developing robust data pipelines, transforming and optimizing large datasets, and leveraging GCP BigQuery to enable reliable analytics and reporting across SAP S/4HANA Cerebro Reporting initiatives.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The ideal candidate has strong SQL and Python expertise, experience working with production-scale data systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable data solutions.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Primary Location:</strong> Brampton, ON</p>\n<p><strong>Work Model: </strong> Hybrid 3-Days Onsite</p>\n<p><strong>Employment Type: </strong> Contractor</p>\n<p><strong>Vacancy Status: </strong> New</p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines</li>\n <li>Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries for large datasets</li>\n <li>Build and manage datasets within GCP BigQuery, including query optimization and performance tuning</li>\n <li>Develop data transformation workflows using Python</li>\n <li>Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across systems</li>\n <li>Support data modeling efforts to enable analytics and downstream consumption</li>\n <li>Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions</li>\n <li>Document data processes, workflows, and system architecture</li>\n <li>Contribute to best practices in data engineering, governance, and performance optimization</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field</li>\n <li>5+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience</li>\n <li>Strong hands-on experience with SQL (complex joins, aggregations, performance tuning)</li>\n <li>Strong proficiency in Python for data processing, ETL development, and automation</li>\n <li>Experience working within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically BigQuery</li>\n <li>Experience building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines</li>\n <li>Solid understanding of data modeling and large-scale data processing</li>\n <li>Experience working with structured and semi-structured datasets</li>\n <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities</li>\n <li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>NICE TO HAVE </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow or similar)</li>\n <li>Experience with dbt or modern data transformation frameworks</li>\n <li>Familiarity with CI/CD practices for data engineering</li>\n <li>Experience working in Agile environments</li>\n <li>Exposure to data governance and data quality frameworks</li>\n <li>Experience supporting machine learning or advanced analytics workloads</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT ADASTRA</strong></p>\n<p>Adastra is a global leader in AI and data-driven transformation, helping organizations lead with artificial intelligence—responsibly, strategically, and at scale.
