    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>Produces or modifies computer programs of simple to moderate complexity using the prescribed computer programming languages on various hardware (personal computers, Mainframe, client server, etc.). Develops an understanding of assignments including the business functions to the point of being productive beyond the scope of his/her specific program assignments. Has contact with many levels of personnel throughout Western & Southern Financial Group (W&SFG) to develop definitions for programs and review results of the programs. Works with some supervision and is responsible for making a minimal range of decisions, escalating to Manager when appropriate and updating Manager on a regular basis.\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>What you will do:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Researches, designs, defines, develops, tests, documents and implements new computer applications or changes to existing applications following W&SFG standards.</li>\n <li>Installs software packages and/or personal computer software.</li>\n <li>Assures that hardware and software operate efficiently.</li>\n <li>Utilizes programming tools effectively to ensure accuracy and enhance productivity.</li>\n <li>Assembles and analyzes data relating to processing problems, soliciting help as needed from IT and business unit associates.</li>\n <li>Consults and/or advises business unit associates by written and/or oral communication on inquiries concerning existing or proposed systems.</li>\n <li>Participates in committee meetings on developmental projects and/or large-scale improvement projects.</li>\n <li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\n <li>Complies with all policies and standards.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's Degree Or commensurate selection criteria experience. (Required)</li>\n <li>Demonstrates an above-average aptitude for computer programming work. Includes above-average logical problem-solving abilities and high skill level in basic mathematics. (Required)</li>\n <li>Proven strong analytical skills, including demonstrated experience identifying, defining and quantifying problems; collecting or interpreting data, establishing facts, and providing effective solutions. Cite examples of good decision-making skills when dealing with multiple alternatives. (Required)</li>\n <li>Possesses programming skills learned in college level coursework or through self-learning. Cite examples demonstrating a number of these skills. Some examples may include research, design, gathering requirements, working with business units, developing programs, testing, documentation, and production support.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience working effectively within a team. Provide examples of motivating co-workers in difficult situations.</li>\n <li>Possesses and displays demonstrated verbal and written communication skills; occasionally conveys information to internal and external customers in a clear, accurate, focused and concise manner.</li>\n <li>Proven examples of working under multiple deadlines with minimal supervision. Cite examples of successfully organizing and effectively completing projects where given little or no direction.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to document procedures and activities in a manner that is understandable to others and prepared using a prescribed format, demonstrating use of the English language to include exemplary knowledge, in verbal and written format, of the elements of grammar, punctuation, diction and spelling proficiency.</li>\n <li>Continually performs an activity such as transcribing, viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work assigned.</li>\n <li>Proficient in specific programming languages required by the individual business unit.</li>\n <li>Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet applications.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Work Setting/Position Demands:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.</li>\n <li>Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis.</li>\n <li>Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.</li>\n <li>Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis.</li>\n <li>Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions</li>\n <li>Performs substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work.</li>\n <li>Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects/events.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Travel Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>None</li>\n</ul>",
