You'll be working alongside experienced engineers to carry out surveys of drainage systems, learning how to assess conditions, identify defects, and support maintenance and repair strategies. This is a Permanent full time role, Monday to Friday 40 hours per week.</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About the Role:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Location: Bristol</li>\n<li>Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week</li>\n<li>Salary: £13.00 per hour</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: bold\">Benefits:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Enhanced overtime rates</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">21 days holiday + bank holidays</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Life Assurance scheme</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Auto enrolment pension scheme.</span></li>\n<li>Ongoing training and professional development</li>\n<li>Opportunity to work with a leading water utility network<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">As a Drainage Assistant, you will:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communicate with customers about scheduled works and address any concerns.</li>\n<li>Assist in identifying drainage issues, including blockages, structural defects, infiltration, and root ingress.</li>\n<li>Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear drains, sewers, and pipework.</li>\n<li>Remove waste materials and prevent build-up in wastewater systems.</li>\n<li>Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance to ensure readiness.</li>\n<li>Support CCTV inspections to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.</li>\n<li>Assist in emergency response situations, including flooding and urgent drainage issues.</li>\n<li>Learn to complete job sheets, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS) under supervision.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About you:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points)</li>\n<li>A strong interest in drainage, utilities, or civil engineering</li>\n<li>A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to work outdoors in all conditions</li>\n<li>Good communication and teamwork skills</li>\n<li>Basic computer skills and a desire to learn new software</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: bold\">About Lanes:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">At the Lanes Group, we believe firmly in looking after our people and our customers.
