All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. Citizenship.  \n<h2>Position Overview</h2>\n<p>Riverside Research is looking for an experienced Technical Lead Software Engineer to join our team working on cutting-edge machine learning projects for the U.S. Air Force and Department of War. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software architecture, design, and development, particularly in Java and Object-Oriented Design, with a focus on machine learning applications for the Defense and Intelligence Community.  The Technical Lead will be coordinating and executing IRAD programs.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Job  Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Areas of focus may include application architecture, software design, user-interface and experience, database management, client-side and server-side development, web application development, testing frameworks, and understanding and integrating with devops tools.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with project manager and other development team members to continue to define and develop a robust, high-quality software system that can be accessed on both desktop environments and web clients, with an eye for extensibility to leverage and display different types of data in the future.</li>\n <li>Ability to work directly with databases and other data stores in order to collect information and potentially perform certain levels of statistical analysis.</li>\n <li>Interact with stakeholders, customers, and users to understand operational strengths and weaknesses and help define roadmap and future focus areas for the software system.</li>\n <li>On occasion, provide direct customer support and technical assistance to users of the software.</li>\n <li>Analyze specified methods and procedures, identify problems, and document requirements.</li>\n <li>Lead and implement complex software architecture and design in Java.</li>\n <li>Interacts with third-party vendors to collect appropriate source information.</li>\n <li>Work with customer and team to translate complex product requirements into software designs.</li>\n <li>Lead the architecture, design, implementation, testing, and development of high-quality Java, Java Script, and Python applications.</li>\n <li>Develop, maintain, and enhance machine learning algorithms and systems for Defense and Intelligence applications.</li>\n <li>Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.</li>\n <li>Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.</li>\n <li>Stay updated on the latest industry trends in software development and machine learning.</li>\n <li>Documents findings in technical reports and presentations</li>\n <li>Code implementation</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI and ability to obtain necessary program clearances</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.</li>\n <li>15 years of experience in software architecture, design, and development with a Bachelor's degree, 12 years with a Master's degree, a PhD with 8 years' experience, or equivalent experience is typically required for an employee at this level.</li>\n <li>Expertise in Java, Object-Oriented Design, and Software Architecture Analysis.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience in the Defense and Intelligence Community, especially in machine learning.</li>\n <li>Proven track record of leading successful software development projects.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Skills:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Direct experience working software development for DoD and the IC</li>\n <li>Machine learning experience working on behavior recognition and prediction</li>\n <li>Experience in a consulting or senior engineering role.</li>\n <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated leadership</li>\n <li>Proven experience with project organization skills</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Global Comp</h2>$180,000 - $250,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.\n<h2>Closing Statement</h2>  Riverside Research Institute is a not-for-profit, technology-oriented defense company, where service to our customers and support of our staff is our overall mission.
