We provide a dynamic, collaborative, and engaging learning environment to our students with a very high standard of community-driven post-secondary education. Our Aviation Program is expanding, and we are seeking a dedicated Flight<br>Instructor to join our growing team in Abbotsford, BC.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Job Summary</span></p>\n<p>We are seeking a qualified and experienced Class 2 Flight Instructor to provide both in-aircraft and<br>ground school instruction in accordance with Transport Canada standards.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Job Title: Flight Instructor (Class 2 Flight Instructor) </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Duties and Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Instruct student pilots in procedures and techniques of flying aircraft and in ground-school subjects<br>such as navigation, radio procedures, and aviation regulations</li>\n<li>Monitor operation of engine and aircraft systems during flight</li>\n<li>Train licensed pilots for additional certifications.</li>\n<li>Prepare and train pilots for written and flight examinations.</li>\n<li>Conduct pre-flight inspections and ensure proper weight and balance.</li>\n<li>Communicate with control towers for takeoff clearances and flight instructions.</li>\n<li>Coordinate flight activities with ground crew and air traffic control.</li>\n<li>Direct flight crew during flight operations and explain test procedures.</li>\n<li>Maintain communication with dispatchers and meteorological services.</li>\n<li>Handle and report in-flight emergencies and aircraft malfunctions.</li>\n<li>Prepare accurate student progress and flight evaluation reports</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Experience and Specialization</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Flight Instructor Rating – Airplane (Class 2)</li>\n<li>Experience in both dual and solo flight instruction</li>\n<li>Previous experience as a flight instructor </li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Job Requirements</span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Completion of secondary school and graduation from a certified aviation or flying school</li>\n<li>Commercial Pilot Licence (Fixed-Wing)</li>\n<li>Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL – Fixed-Wing)</li>\n<li>Transport Canada Flight Instructor Rating (Airplane)</li>\n<li>Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit (Aeronautical)</li>\n<li>Valid Transport Canada endorsements to instruct on applicable aircraft types</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Location of Work: Abbotsford<br>Mailing Address: Unit 1129, 9686 137 Street, Surrey, BC, V3T 0X6<br>Hours: 30 hours per week<br>Expected Start Date: As soon as possible<br>Language of Work: English<br>Vacancies: 1</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">How to Apply</span><br>By Email:<br>�� [email protected]<br>By Mail:<br>Western Community College<br>Unit 1129, 9686 137 Street<br>Surrey, BC V3T 0X6<br></p>",
